  • Would this be same in store?

    • Yes, can confirm.

  • +1

    contains soybeans

    no thanks.

    • +2

As in, it's made in the same factory / line so may contain traces for allergy purposes

      • May also contain nuts.

    • +4

It contains soy lecithin as an emulsifier. It's is in every bloody thing these days, including a lot of whey protein powders e.g. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey.

Even if you believe the, er, interesting views some people have about soy, I fail to understand why you'd give a crap about lecithin considering it's also found in eggs.

      • +3

how am i gonna get big gainz if i grow manboobs from eating 2 much soy

***said while i chug down 100% estrogen free dairy products

  • That’s cheap!!!! I have been drinking WPI, which isn’t much different to this one. I hope they don’t kill the product!

    • +2

71g / protein per hundred is well behind good WPI

      • 100% WPI is $35.99

      • The WPI is 85g (Vanilla) or 84g (Chocolate) protein/100g. That isn't the best but also not the worst out there for flavoured WPI.

    • +1

The WPI is cheap there too! I think it is better because it is all WPI rather than some WPC.

  • +1
    • Have you tried this before? Any good?

      • Nah, don't really use pre workout since all the good ingredients were banned. Ordered some now though.

      • +1

better off drinking straight coffee than these pre workouts. all the good ingredients got banned and most if not all of these pre workouts are based off caffeine anyways.

        • +1

It’s not a bad price for BCAAs, AAKG & beta-alanine, as well as caffeine and B group vitamins. I got some.

Helped get over the $60 mark

  • Looks like the whole pure warrior line is discounted

I think it has been this price for a while

  • got the vanilla wpi. can't say i like the taste compared to 'pure product' on ebay

  • $59.98 for 2
    Msx 2 per person.

Theyre trying to make hitting $60 very hard

    • +3
    • +1

The WPI is $35.99, so 2x is $71.98 (then -$5). Works out to $16.75/kg.

      • What's the main difference between the WPI and the one in this post?

        • +22

The main difference is that the WPI has proportionally more protein (it's just WPI rather than a WPC and WPI blend).

Using the Vanilla flavours, the nutritional info off Swisse's website, and the needlessly confusing product names, and not accounting for the $5 off $60 coupon:

Extreme Bulk Extreme Burn Extreme Whey 100% WPI

All are artificially sweetened with sucralose, if you care about that sort of thing.

Which one appeals to you would depend on what you care most about out of lower cost (buy skim milk powder at Colesworths instead), lower calorie content (weight loss or cutting), lower carb content (ketogenic diets), special dietary restrictions (e.g. lactose intolerance), taste, etc.

          • @lbft: awesome amount of info mate, thanks for putting that up for us newbies

          • @lbft: Wow, thanks for taking the time to write that explanation. Definitely makes it easier for us to process everything

  • How quick are chemist warehouse with delivery?

    • +1

Got my last order in about 4 days I think.

      • That’s cool, hopefully I get it before the end of the week

  • Free delivery has been reduced to $50

    • The $60 people mention is for the $5 off coupon

  • The bulk is 23.99 for 2kg, are these any good?

    • +1

It has a lot more carbs. It’s ok if you need the carbs or are looking to put on bulk weight/ size. Gain weight.

The other two are better for lean body mass.

But it all depends if you need the carbs & what your workout routine is.

Also your dietary requirements. Both have their benefits @ different stages/ times & for different training.

      • What about WPI? What's the difference between that and Extreme Burn?

        • +1

WPI just goes through a filtration process that isolates the protein from the carbs/ glucose making it a more concentrated form of protein.

It is all the same base product.

The burn has is a mix of WPI/ WPC plus Cacao Powder (5%), Green Coffee Bean Extract (2%) Inulin (0.8%)

Those three added ingredients all have reported benefits for weight loss etc. which is why it is called “burn”.

Being a mix of WPI/WPC makes it cheaper.

          • @stickymoo: Great info. Thanks mate

            • +1

@Scope: If I was going to pick. Broadly speaking.

The burn would be good after a morning workout & the bulk after an evening working

WPI after any workout & mix it with what ever requirements you have

    • +1

Whey Protein Concentrate and Whey Protein Isolate
When they put WPC in front of WPI in their label that means mainly WPC.
SiO2 added to to avoid clumping.
Green Coffee Bean Extract (2%) = thermogenic formula, lol

  • Just picked up 2, the ticket says $99.99 each, not $150.

  • Just picked up the vanilla extreme whey. It is somewhat flavorless so isn't bad tasting but isn't amazing. Mixed pretty well also.

  • Can anyoen comment on the taste of the chocolate flavour?

  • +2

$150 is the most ridiculous "RRP" for 2kg of protein I've ever seen

    • $30 is good though

      • +2

        $30 is good.

I have 40kg of Protein stockpiled. A crap load of the EHP Labs from Aminoz, which was a bout $12 per KG. A heap of MUsclePHarm Combat from Iherb which was about $15 per kg and now this.

  • thank you bought 2 of each.

  • +1

Just got a tub of the Choc WPC/WPI Burn in store. Quite a few at Hurstville (Syd). Tub is very similar in size to other brand's 1.2kg/2lbs tubs, except that it's packed quite full. Use a fork or something to grab the scoop that's buried in it. No safety seal, just the plastic lid seal. Expiry on all the ones I saw were July 2019.

Mixes really well (with water) even though their individual serving is 2x 40g scoops. No clumps or anything at all. Despite this, it's not very thick. No foaming. Taste is alright but a touch artificial. Not overly sweet as some WPC blends can be. No residual aftertaste. Been about 3 hours and no bloating or cramps.

If price stays the same and they still have them in stock (online is saying there's temporary low stock), I'd probably buy another tub.

    • +1

That’s good to know. Mine didn’t have a seal either. But my WPI one did. I thought it was strange..

      They are jam packed!

I find they mix well compared to others I have had. Flavour isn’t intense so it’s a good mixer too.

    • The store I went to (Melbourne CBD Bourke St) has a label saying promotion ends 24/12.

  • Thanks! Just bought a 2kg WPI Double choc tub. Comes to 82g protein / 100g, which is okay at this price. BCAAs is on the lower side though, compared to most other brands. Will give it a try tomorrow and comment further on the taste and whether it clumps or mixes well.

    • Also got a Double-Choc flavour. However, I could not find this flavour on Swisse or any other websites…

      • Some stores only have choc and some have both choc and double choc. At least the ones in Melbourne CBD.

    • Can say this tastes pretty good. Mixes really well too. Going to get two more tubs!
