  • Thanks Richard for adding the additional info :)

Vehicles manufactured prior to 2001 cannot be added to myToyota.

    • +1

Bugger. Well you answer my question.

Not for our old 80series then.

      • +1

Just as well as it doesn't consume much fuel anyway.

        • also huge savings on depreciation compared to a new car haha

    • +1

just added my 2000 Corolla successfully.

      • Was it hard to find your batch number or did you use the registration certificate?

    • I had my 1994 Toyota Camry added to it fine?

  • +1

Wonderful! Thank you so much, have been using my app all the time filling up my corolla saving 4c, much better than spending $30 to get this discount, so I guess this 8c discount also applies to existing accounts too, right?

    • Offer starts next week :)

  • +3

    Has anyone found this useful?

All the participating outlets jack up price anyway…. the ones with the lowest prices always cant figure why the system "isnt working"

    • Not in my area, last weekend 95 is only 129.9 before the 4c. I never have a single transaction issue using my 4c code.

      • +2

I use it all the time. I check the petrolspy app to see which Caltex in my weekly travels have decent prices. Then I couple the Toyota App 4c discount with the starcash digital cards I buy through YOUI rewards: consistently saving 10c-12c off per litre.

      • last weekend 95 is only 129.9

I would love to see those prices. 159.9 is my usual price and my two local Caltex servos aren't participating.

    • I have 2 nearby Caltex that participate. One has average pricing, and the other is always cheapest price in my area.

      • I have a Caltex near a Costco station and they match them in prices but don’t accept the Toyota offer

        • Didn't know even you can price match petrol price?

          • @kaikor: No i mean they surrounding stations automatically 'match' against the costco station (+2cents because the costco one still requires a membership)

    • Costco near our caltex is always cheaper. They sometimes drop their prices to match but at random times will jack it $0.30~ so I stopped going to them and signed up for the Costco.

  • Also you can now get prepaid star cash cards for 5% off at some Giftcard outlets like Suncorp. Check the wiki

    • But you need to be a member of Suncorp?

      • I think you can make a free bank acc with Suncorp to access it. I have my car insurance through Suncorp so I can access it that way.

        • Thanks!

          • +1

@D6C1: As long as you have an insurance policy with AAMI, GIO etc you can also get a Suncorp account.

  • can we stack this with woolies 4c discount for those caltex/woolies stations?

    • Don't think so. It is a code in itself. Non-stackable. Discount starcash digital cards (through youi, suncorp etc) will get you an additional 5%.

    • +3

I'm pretty sure none of the caltex/woolies accept mytoyota app codes.

    • Has to be the non woolies Caltex.

  • +3

I have an '05 Lexus IS200 I managed to add via rego in the app. If I try to add via VIN it comes up as invalid, but when I did it via rego it came up as a '02 RAV4. I didn't verify my ownership and the regular 4c off daily code still worked for me.

    • Lol was about to see if my Lexus could be added - will give it a go.

    • So all you need is a rego number? No Vin or batch number required?

      • +1

You use rego or VIN to add your car to the app. Batch number is to verify ownership, which looks to allow access to your service history via the app.

        • Cheers

        • Looks like I'm going to pay a visit to gumtree cars, Toyota subsection. :)

          • @2024: Or just grab a random rego off the street? It doesn't look like there's any real validation on the app for getting the fuel voucher, only for warranty/service history.

  • Does this work with Woolworths Caltex and stack with wish card?

    • No and No

      • Then why is our local Woolies Caltex in Erskine, WA on the list?

  • +1

Does the app work with imports?

    • +2

I feel like you can easily take one for the team and try and report back.

  • Ty

  • Cool. I downloaded the app and when I put my name and email address in it recognized my car straight away. No vin or registration details needed

  • Thanks OP for sharing a deal!

I am probably going to be down voted for this but is your user data really worth only $12? (150x0.8c). Personally I'm happy to pass on this deal even if it was from the manufacturer of my vehicle.

    • It's been on-going at 4c/litre for many months now. 8c/litre is just a limited bonus discount.
A lot more than just $12 savings.

    • +2

You mean the data they already have from you from when you purchased the car?

      • Correct the manufacturer may or may not already have this data within internal systems depending on multiple factors such as if the vehicle has been purchased via private sale. My point revolved more around the potential breach of the online data-set used by the myToyota app.

The influx of registrations provides Toyota or their chosen 3 parties to analyse the owner/buyer vehicle statistics. They aren't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. There will be a gain/offset somewhere in the equation.

So after taking a closer look at the terms above it appears you can potentially buy up to 150L per day per registered vehicle within an AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) determined by the participating service station.

I retract my figure of $12 as it sounds like you could benefit heavily in the right set of circumstances :)

        • They aren't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. There will be a gain/offset somewhere in the equation.

          Of course they aren't!

The biggest gain to Toyota is probably the ability to remind you about servicing, and potentially understand the second hand market.

Caltex could benefit the most, they gain a loyal customer base and potential extra revenue from in store sales. (I assume it's Caltex who are actually providing the discount, not Toyota)

  • LPG included ?

if i drive a lexus, enter my cars details and it gets accepted, should i be offended.

    • Toyota is the highest regarded company in its native Japan so there was no need to elevate its position.
Lexus was a marketing exercise solely for foreign markets.

correct. however that was a long time ago. Lexus are no longer an experiment, they are well established as an independent

  • caN I stick on ToyotA badge on my ford badge ?

  • Good deal but usually not the cheapest afaik. Hopefully with the 8c it'll make up for it.

  • It's a good deal for those who use Caltex.

  • This is a good extra but i‘ve just bought a new Toyota. It arrived with a scratch on the windscreen drivers side and needed to be replaced. Took the m forever to get the new screen in. Now it has a squeak from the breaks or suspension that they have been unable to fix. It’s lije dr ing around with someone running their nails down a blackboard in the back seat. My first Toyota. What a piece of sh,t.

    • If they can't fix it and it is a new car then you can definetely keep taking it back and/or look up ACLs and fight for a new one.

    • Scratch on windscreen .. they replaced it.
Squeal from brakes or suspension? Rock or twig caught in rotor/pad area? Any worse when brakes applied?
"My first Toyota. What a piece of sh,t."
You have not experienced "shit" until you see what some of the other makes are dumping on the market.. repeated failing transmissions, bjorked motors, etc etc etc… Your problems are very minor. Need to get a dealer that can sort it out. You can take it to other Toyota dealers if you are having no success with the one you bought it from.
Even though they have the logo of one of the best cars built today out the front it does not mean they are not a typical dealership and stuff you around.
Good products leave the Toyota factory, after that most of the dealerships take it downhill.

  • This can't stack with the 6c off first 3 fills with Fuelpay app right?

    • "Offer is not available in conjunction with any other offers or fuel discounts unless specifically stated."

  • +2

For those like me that don't own a Toyota, you can use the vehicle registration 'TOYOTA' which I successfully used the last time this offer was around.

  • +1

Can you use someone else's rego? Like pick a random Toyota on the street and sign up as that?

    Edit lol you can hahaha

  • Has anyone had any issues with participating Caltex service station not accepting/recognising the discount? Presented today and the staff member wasn’t interested, asked them to at least scan the code, it didn’t work. I said they were on the list and showed the details, she told me to call Caltex head office as she knew nothing about it and very unhelpful.

Disappointing but not the end of the world, any ideas on how to tackle this?

    • Submit your feedback through the relevant customer service channel to bring it up with the higher ups?

  • Originally much more restrictive, now
"Vehicles manufactured prior to 2001 cannot be added to myToyota."
    So my Toyota isn't eligible.

    OP please add to title.

  • I discovered today that since WW rewards points are now being earned at my local Caltex, that along with scanning your WW barcode to get points (1pt per $1), it will also deduct the next available 4c discount from your account.

So, this may work for you as well, if :

You have downloaded and registered your Toyota with the app : https://www.toyota.com.au/mytoyota
Your Caltex is particpating in the 8c promotion (from 11th December to 8th of January)
Your Caltex will reward you with WW points (there will be WW promo signage everywhere)
You have earned some 4c discount coupons on your WW rewards account/card

    Goodluck!

    • +1

Didn't get the extra 4c off. Tried at my lock Caltex and only managed to get the 8c off even though my everyday rewards card was scanned.

      • Bugger. And you definitely have 4c coupons in your WW account?

  • Apps like petrol spy can usually save you far more than these games with coupons etc.
A neighbour religiously buys from a local servo because they get 4c off with their shopping dockets… 2k down the road the petrol is constantly 20c or more cheaper..!!

  • Great I had an Estima 8Seats

  • Do you have to drive your toyota there to get the discount?

    • +1

      Nope

  • Has anyone used this multiple times? I used it successfully last week and was planning to use it today (being the final day of the offer period) but reading the terms it says you can only use it once per vehicle registered in the app during the offer period. In which case…why have daily codes?

    • Isn't it once per day?

      • That's what I'm asking. The terms don't say once per day that I can see.

        • But the app says once per day doesn't it?
