Was going to put that but I don't have any experience using either service so I'm not sure if they work 🤔
FYI 8% would bring the price to ~$438.
Cashrewards services don't calculate the GST, so would = 441.82 after cashback
With all the specials on this the last few days, this price is quite ordinary
Same price as other deals, but no games.
Albeit there is 8% cashback, it's still a touch worse. You get a LOT of games for $27 by buying from EBgames during a 10% off promotion (and 5% giftcards, 1% CR) or you'd onsell them to get a cheaper effective price.
could you elaborate on that? I've only just started looking and have seen quite a few deals but don't know anything about the giftcards or cashback/cashrewards etc… hope that's no trouble? Cheers
Giftcards 5% off: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/417793
Signup to cashrewards for 1% off ebay and (varies quite often, but always 6-12%) off amazon. Use a referral to sign up and you might get a bonus, I can't remember. Click through their website to get to ebay/amazon and absolutely don't switch tabs, don't use adblockers, firewalls, etc etc or it will ruin the cashback tracking. Although it's only 1% anyway if ebay.
And the EBGames offer is here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/420838
@justtoreply: Thank you!
Ordinary, it’s a powerhouse gaming console for less than $500. The price is very much acceptable! Barely the price of half a PC graphics card in some cases.
half the price of a flagship graphics card…
Agreed, I believe the original EB GAMES with 8 games included was the best one yet
The Amazon $439 + 20% Cashback with shopback was pretty good too.
Capped at $50. Still it was the best price IMO. Especially after TRS.
@congo: TRS is possible? Don't you need to be carrying it when claiming TRS? (I'm a TRS newbie so excuse my ignorance :))
@DooDah: I am interested in getting TRS as well for this console. Any information is really good.
@neonixcoder: Also TRS is for international flights, not domestic.
@congo: There is a TRS office after customs at most airports.
Bring the item and receipt with you as carry on. There is a TRS app. Line up, show them the receipt and items.
Give them your credit card or bank details.
After it all done, pick the item in your carry on luggage. You can discard the box and packing.
Declare on your return trip if it is over $900.
If you travel with family, then you would have more allowance. $900 per person.
Yeah, that would of been sweet. Just a timing thing lol
it was $429 and $50 cashback. but the shopback shit will not clear until February so its hardly worth saving the $50.
@HKS: How is it not worth getting back $50 in February?
@DooDah: Maybe it is time value of money for this guy ;)
@DooDah: time. $50 is $50 but waiting 3 months for it won't be worth it. i would have forgotten about it by then.
Hey everyone, kinda off topic but has anyone had any experiences with returning a faulty console to Amazon AU? I received my Xbox One X on Tuesday only to find out that the disc drive wasn't working :(, I called them up and the lady explained they don't do exchanges so I'm in the process of getting a return, my main concern is not receiving the full refund and being charged a restocking fee or something like that? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. (Sent it back the following day, Wednesday 28/11)
They can't charge you a restocking fee if the product is faulty (it's agains Australian consumer laws). Technically they should also reimburse any return postage fees (although they should be pretty good about providing return shipping details).
That's exactly what I was thinking so yeah hopefully it all goes well, such a bummer was so keen on playing a few games, and yes the lady did mention that they would reimburse me for the shipping fee. Thanks for the reply!
I don't have any experience with it, but Amazon is very good with returns. You should be fine.
Sweet! Cheers for the reply
Hi. yeah it sucks that they don't have a 'exchange' system currently in place for faulty products. In my experience, I had to return the item to them, then they'll issue a refund. They told me to order the same item again and they'll reimburse the difference in price (I bought the item during flash sale so the item is no longer discounted).
It's such a hassle process but at least I got a replacement product with the same discounted price essentially.
Ahh that's good news, how long did they take to issue you the refund? I'm actually very close to the amazon factory so it shouldn't take that long for them to receive the items, yeah hopefully they can implement an exchange system in the future! Still not sure whether to repurchase Xbox from them or go with JB or something :\
Amazon will provide the refund after they received the item. It is standard practice for all online shopping returns.
As for whether to purchase from Amazon again or elsewhere. It depends on two things: 1. Price 2. How easy it is for you to pick up from a store. If you do decide to get it from Amazon again, ask them to give you at least the same deal and expedite the shipping.
just wat netsurfer said, they'll issue the refund once they've received the item. However, in my case they've refunded once they have the tracking information from auspost.
@chochoy: Update Hey you're correct, once i gave them the tracking information, I was refunded. Repurchased it from Amazon @450.00, thankfully it arrived and is working fine! Thanks again everyone for your reassurances.
Wouldnt that nullify cashback?
A faulty console is a bigger concern than losing cashback.
@netsurfer: I undstnd that..
but when you rebuy and amazon refunds the balance, you'd still lose on the some cashback, which doesn't make it a great deal!
but yeah, it is what it is.
but when you rebuy
When you rebuy, simply use the cashback/cashreward site so the new purchase will get the reward. And, if the new reward percentage is lower, explain the situation to Amazon CSR and see if they can compensate with a discount voucher. If you are unhappy about the difference in the new vs old reward and Amazon won't compensate, then don't buy.
C'mon Amazon. Bring a great deal on PS4 Pro with no games.
still not regretting buying the XBOX ONE X with Red Dead Redemption 2, Forza 7 and Forza 4 from EB Games (price matched offer from JB Hifi) for $499. Then sold both Froza games for $75.
Well, RDR2 online beta started for people who bought Ultimate Edition and people who played it on launch day. The patch/update also fixed the unlimited gold bars bug and other bugs. Was hoping they wouldn't patch the gold bar glitch.
[Spoiler Alert]
Is this really needed? Especially considering the cash you get once you complete the Epilogue.
It's handy for chapter 2 to 6 and at the beginning of the epilogue. Once you completed it, that big chuck of cash isn't so useful.
Don't forget Cashrewards 8% Cashback too!
