  • Great price

  • So…how do these work ? I can use my current Linksys 1900ACS router ???

    • The whole point is to not use any other routers

      • Not correct. You can use the ORBI as a meshed AP mode wireless network.

  • Been deciding between this, ubiquiti, or Google WiFi.

    • I used this when it came out, was great, but casting and google devices seem clumsy with it… Had to replace the 2 with 4 Google Wifi pucks to get the same result.

      • So Google casting is better with Google's own mesh system?

I think casting would be one of the main criterias.

        • +1

Yeah I had inconsistencies and I believe it's because this doesn't allow you to select which band things connect too. Must be said neither does Google but everything worked perfectly…. Someone else here said the same when I last mentioned it too, so it wasn't just me.

Google's nice, though it seems the pucks even when using Ethernet backhaul are connecting around 300mpbs, others say that too, unsure if its just clumsy reporting or in fact slow.

          • @scuderiarmani: I'm not a power user. Just a full house of Hue lights, lots of Google "Spies", Sonos, Chromecast and Netflix at 4k. And a lot of security cameras at 1080/60

            I don't game.

When you say 300mbps, that's combined I take it? I don't think my download speed has seen triple digits.

            • @[Deactivated]: I have 1 x chromecast 1, a chromecast 2 and a telstra tv box (roku?) and have not had any issues with streaming anything, other than when the wife's phone connected to the 'guest' network.

Range is great also. I was sceptical in buying these (largely to replace a host of powerlines and extenders), but been happy with them.

              Paid $459 2 weeks ago

              • @MagicMikez32: You have the Orbi or Google?

I have appoximately triple the devices. Typically two or three devices streaming at peak.

                • @[Deactivated]: I have this very Orbi pack.

The devices I listed are only the casting devices on the network. There's the laptop, tablet and 3 smartphones that could be streaming wirelessly at any given time.

                  Also 2 google home mini's.

            • @[Deactivated]: 300mbps to each wired puck, getting around 100mbps to the wireless one.

It's fine for most, just seemed odd new cabling and router didn't give me (or others) 1gbps

    • I've had ORBI, Google Wifi and Ubiquiti. Ubiquiti beats them hands down.

      • May I ask why?

My mates tell me ubiquiti. They're pretty tech savvy so most of the words just go whoosh.

      • Which Ubiquity model did you use?

  • +1

i added item into the cart and used the discount code. It comes up $385.43…

    • Same here…(which is the correct price for 12% off)

    • Sorry edited

  • Comes up as $385 with code

    Edit: Beaten to it

  • Nice find, OP. That's a v good price

  • Awesome deal!

  • Don't forget 3% cash-reward!

    • Hey Ming how does that work?

      • +1

Signed up for a CashReward account and go to this page https://www.cashrewards.com.au/wireless-1, click shop now. and it will track your purchase. the cash back is not instant, normally there is a wait time to get cash back (1-2 months)

        • The code isn't listed on CR so it might not work, have tried anyway and will see what happens.

  • I'm using Google WiFi and it works flawlessly.

  • I would go Ubiquiti over all of these. These are prosumer gear where as Ubiquiti is Enterprise gear for a cheaper price.

NOTE: used Ubiquiti in Corporate and at home.

    • Are you referring to Ubiquiti Amplifi?

  • Not a true mesh device but does the job. Been using it for 3 months now and hasn't skipped a beat.

    • +1

The new firmware now allows Daisy chain of satellites as opposed to just start topology. Would this now not satisfy definition of mesh?

  • Nice found OP.
I was considering this during Black Friday however the price was not as compelling as this. If I saw this price I'll buy it straight a way.

  • Glad I bought this a year ago at $299+ delivery
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/352217

  • I wanna order but already bought too much over Black Friday. Wife disapproves …

  • For those that want to keep their existing modem/router, isn’t it cheaper to buy a add on mesh extender (eg. netgear ex7000 or ex 7700) and achieve the same outcome, rather than buying a whole new setup ?

  • Bought this recently from wireless 1. Two day delivery. Big improvement over ISP supplied router. Full speed (114Mbps) over the entire house whereas before it would fall from 114Mbps peak performance to as low as 5Mbps at the other end of the house, which improved to about 15 Mbps with an old style extender.
I would have loved a pair of amplifi HD because it looks good and small. but these were a very good price. I guess the only fault is they are big.
