You've got to ask yourself: at this price, can I afford to not be disabled?

    • Better than the punchline i was going post so I'll just + you heh

    • +17

      Tony Abbott says, "No".

      • -6

        yep,

        No New Taxes
        No Waste
        No Boats
        No Disabled

        ;)

      • Try explaining to a disability job agency that you DON'T want to work because you've been 'chosen' by a certain company yet can't work for them immediately because you don't have the qualifications…fun and games!

It always amuses me what Aldi, purportedly a food store, manages to find to sell. They must have China factory reps calling them all the time with the latest stuff. (Don't get me wrong, I like Aldi, I buy whatever I can cheap at Aldi; this is just additional entertainment.)

  • +1

That old bloke doesn't look too happy.
He looks like he wants that other bloke's wheelchair…

    • +1

All he needs is a nice big hill

  • +3

Well this has to be most random thing I've seen for sale at Aldi

  • +20

At these prices, they will be running out the doors…

  • +10

This is a wheely wheely good bargain.
They will be wheeling them out they doors …

Is this the same guy now walking !!!

Amazing what Aldi's wheelchair therapy can achieve. :)

    • +5

Looks like a 007 gadget. If only it could fire a grappling hook! ;-)

      • Come think of it, the guy could actually pass off as Q from the 007 movies.

Don't let those two "footrests" fool you, the wheelchair has automatic transmission.

        • +1

Could have been Professor Xavier with a wig! Gee I want that wheelchair now.

    • +2

Hehe, funnily enough, before seeing your comment, I was considering purchasing both a wheelchair and a walking stick for myself. Some days I can't walk at all, others I need an aid, whilst others I can walk fine unaided.

      • Does the cycle go as follows;

        • Oh the pain -> wheel chair
        • Feeling better, using walking stick
        • Much better now, WALKING YEH!
        • TROTTING, TROTTING, TROTTING IN PLACE!!
        • Back to wheel chair??
        • I'm trying to work out if that is meant to be a reference to something, and am afraid to admit it in case it's a reference to something really obvious, heh. (I am shocking when it comes to references, in general.)

        • No reference, well, except trotting in place = donkey from Shrek. My partner has a similar issue, except it doesn't force her into a wheel chair.. Old Achilles injury that makes some days uncomfortable, the rest just completely unbearable.

    • +10

      They see me rollin'
      They hatin'

    • +8

The next product for sale will have the same guy skiing down a snowy mountain

      • +1

Some very funny comments on this page, but yours made me really laugh loud. :D

    • +1

      lol that's epic

  • +8

man, the price is so cheap, I feel like buying one as a toy just to play around.

  • +6

I'd better get one of these now. By the time comes for me to need one when I'm old I won't be able to afford it (price inflation) ;-)

  • +5

Thanks puglix for thinking of others and taking the time to post this. It is very much appreciated! I rarely look at Aldi specials so would have completely missed it.

    • +5

They have this so called 'aged care' category sale at least a couple of times each year… This definitely isn't the first one…

      • +3

Ah thanks. That's good to know. Your "so called 'aged care'" made me smile a little too.

      • +2

'aged care'. heh. I personally know 3 people under 35 in wheel chairs… Then the worst thing about it is when people assume that because they're young and in a wheel chair, they were probably out drink driving and "deserve it" (not at all saying people who are somewhat disabled due to an accident and youthful indescretions deserve it - it seems to be a common belief though). Multiple sclerosis is horrible.

  • +3

Perfect when you want to go drinking out on the town to get absolutely legless.

    • +6

      Wouldn't that fall under Drink-Driving?

      • +1

        Only if it's motorised…

  • +13

My Hat goes off to them for selling mobility aids @ a good price..

  • +10

i'm going to get one to train my arms and shoulders to get real big.

  • +2

omg! how did aldi know my secret wish to be like my hero joe swanson the crippled cop from family guy?

    • Oh ****! I think Lt. Dangle just got 'out-done' for Halloween!

  • +1

haha i knew i had to read the comments for this deal

  • Good for compo rorting and insurance claims for 'injuries' and other dodgy OH/S claims.

    • how are you going to fake independent medical assessments? no really i want to know

  • +4

Let's stay on-topic and quit making remarks regarding ethnic stereotyping.

    • +2

Glad to know that ignorance is curbed here somewhat…. incredibly stupid comments from people who should know better than to generalise. Hope there was sarcasm to the comment above but have a feeling there wasn't…. (speaking as someone who is married to a Dr… shock horror!)

Good deal by Aldi & glad it may benefit people with medical/mobility issues.

    • +2

Hope you guys are well aware I was being facetious. I was disgusted by wolfenators comment & that was the point of mine.

      • Nope, just the truth in my XP. 2 bad I missed your comment, I'm sure it would have been a good read.

  • +2

Disabled people get all the good bargains. >:(

Did anyone else think of a certain Seinfeld episode when viewing this deal? When Kramer got a 2nd hand wheel chair for this woman, and she ends up hurtling down a hill cause the brakes fail.

    • No we don't…the aged have it all over us!

  • +2

It'll be much easier to get one of these while I can walk. When I actually need a wheelchair how am I going to get to Aldi to buy it? ;-) Actually Aldi should keep a couple instore for when people need them each Thursday morning after the usual crowd crush for specials ;-)

    • +2

You would need to remember to bring a $2 coin to release it from the wheelchair corral ;)

  • my bad… disregard… :-)

  • Think of poor old disabled Andy from Little Britain. What would he do without his wheelchair?
More than you can imagine actually ;p
