We just found this noted on the Frequent Flyer Australia forums, that it's possible to fly SIN to SYD (via MEL) on Dec 28th from around $840. To put this in context, Jetstar is coming up at $1500+ and Malaysia 1700+ on the same day.
Not sure if mistake fare or not, but it's pretty incredible.

I believe they're simply charged through the same CC processor as booking flights online. I last used this trick two years ago, I don't imagine they've made any changes since.

As per the terms and conditions for AMEX this deal is only valid for flight that are within or depart from Australia, which are a paid in Australia Dollars.
Singapore to Perth/Sydney or Melbourne would be paid in SGD.

Business Class Singapore to Melbourne for the whole week has dropped to $799 or $749 with the AmEx deal. Nice on the A380.
Better on the A330 with its upgraded business class. A380 business class is very dated.

The codeshare flights on Emirates A380 would be awesome with the funky bar at the back of the top deck with excellent service.
Whereas Qantas A380 is great for couples, but a bit ordinary…in the service department with such a big cabin.
Flew Emirates A380 from DXB to NCE in September (thanks to points!), the bar is amazing! We had 20 pax upstairs in total, so experience was fantastic!
That's a pretty good deal SIN - PER for $601 on 28 or 29 DEC. 100 status points up for grabs! Too bad the flights out aren't cheap.
