How long is battery life on v6?
20 min. I've had one for a few years and it has been sufficient for a 2 bedroom apartment.
Not 20mins, that's without using the motorised head.
14 minutes.
Around 5 mins with the motorised head and 'Boost' on
I have a 3 bedroom house and this cleans it completely on the low setting. I barely use the DC29 and it does a great job (good enough for me)
Only downside is that I have to wear ear protection as it is uncomfortably loud.
How many years of daily use (20 min/day) before you need to replace the battery, if it is replaceable at all?
How many years of daily use
Nobody can answer that, too many variables.
And yes, you can buy replacement batteries for $50-60.
Great. Bought one
20 minutes a day you'd be lucky to get a year out of a battery. Genuine Replacements are like $70 from memory.
We use ours 1-2 times a week and had to replace it after 2.5 years.
My V6 Motorhead does about 10 mins a day and is roughly 3 years old, never had an issue with battery life (85sqm apartment).
Though I've never had to vacuum for 20 mins straight and it lives on it's charger.
Just wondering if these can be turned upside down and used as leaf blowers?
I like the way you think!
Good deal. However had a look at them, suction seemed a little weak and were much louder than I expected. Is it worth another $100 to get the V7?
I've had a V6 for years and it's still used weekly. Great suction. The corded Miele only comes out a couple of times per year…
You can get the v7 for $280 at ebay binglee store today with code PACKED

Bonus crevice tool? isnt there one in package already?
what next? bonus motor, bonus battery? The vaccuum itself is the bonus hahahah
Dyson can be a bit scammy/misleading on the inclusions.
The first model I purchased was the cheapest basic model, but I had been considering the next model up as it included three attachments as the primary difference (according to leaflets etc). When I opened the box it had the exact same attachments.
Hmm $260 for this V6 or $482 for V10 after cashback?
Similar, shall I upgrade From Dc34 and Dc45?
There's also $349 for the V7 at JB that has me torn. Can't really figure out the difference.

The V7 has been much cheaper. It was only $279 on Friday but I was too slow.
But I might even take a risk on the Hoover Qickstick which is currently $129 with free delivery at both Catch and Godfreys. Apparently was $300. And Catch gift cards are now 10% off at Target which makes it closer to $116 or $234 for the V6.

Wow, thanks! Only thing that has me heading toward jb is I have a $200 gift card burning a hole in my pocket, however I live around the corner from a Godfrey's, easy to take one home and try one of the Hoover's out
Hmmm…Catch sells products of previous models or old stock. I had a bad experience with a battery power pack which couldn't charge after 2 weeks. Managed to have it returned after agent noted that battery pack stock could have been sitting in the store for sometime. Though this may not be necessary true for this Dyson V6, could there be such a risk since V6 is the earliest model? Would love to hear from anyone who has bought this V6 from Catch.
Ordered one , also tracked over $10 at cash reward so that makes it around $234. I hope we will like it, this is the first Dyson we have ever bought.
Good luck! Hopefully it works out well for you
It's going to take a while though…
