Surely an extra 1 TB for the same price makes this not a deal unless there is something super compelling about these WDs vs Seagate?

    • Good point. This one gets an extra year of warranty though.

        Its also not Seagate.

However, Officeworks currently have the 4TB version for 132, matching Amazon. Great if you want immediate gratification.

        • Great if you want immediate gratification.

Are you saying the larger the hard drive the more immediate the gratification?

    • Western Digital will last a lot longer than Seagate (That's my personal, and from other oz B users their experiences as well). If that's not an issue, seagate for sure. I'm not willing to bother doing back ups of backups because I cheaped onto seagate though.

      • Opposite of my experience. I've had 2 Wds fail, Seagate's still spinning. And as a bonus. Seagate's are normally Shuckable . YMMV.

  • as per BackBlaze, Seagate drives have the highest failure rate. WD on the other hand faired better.
