    Two different types of receivers.

    The Pioneer is a full height receiver, and this Marantz is a low-profile slim receiver for if you don't have the space to go whole hog.

    Yeah, space is the reason. But just realised it wouldn't fit in the slot with my Pearl Ki Lite. Might as well get it's bigger brother and move things around.

    The most obvious one is the height (105mm vs 173mm), but there are others (8 HDMI inputs vs 4 HDMI inputs, Audyssey MultEQ vs MCACC, Alexa).

    Marantz generally sound better for music, but you really need to audition them to hear the difference.

  I've seen varying figures on their power output, seems odd they managed a huge jump to 90w this model, especially in a slimline. Though I've seen 50rms quoted too….

  Sort of torn on this. Just worried about the heat output (from reviews). I am unable to ventilate it too much… Looks ideal otherwise.
