  • so tempting to get this as a NAS/torrentbox (for Linux ISO's of course).

    Instead of:
    RPI 3B+ w/ 1TB HDD
    Synology DS918+

Wonder how long this would last being on 24/7

    • +1

I've have one of those USFF as my plex server. It's on 24/7 and has been for a number of years, fault free.

  • How well would this play the latest games coupled with an egpu? Any limiting factors inside the dell box?

    • You will be able to fit a Low Profile Nvidia GTX 1050/TI in the Dell SFF box and this would allow you to play most modern games with at least low/medium settings.

  • Hi guys, just wondering if this one or the 9020 would be suitable to HDMI to a 65" 4K TV and download/watch 1080p torrent movies and stream Netflix (again, 1080p is enough for me)?

    • These models will perform fine connected to a TV to play 1080p movies and streaming. Note that they do not have a HDMI port on these models and would require a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.

    • It won't do 4k60 (hdmi2.0) I think it maxes out at 24fps. Not sure how important that is to you.

If you're happy to stick with 1080p you should be fine.

  • Looking to buy my mum a pc. Is this good for normal use? Word and facebook stuff?

    • khantic, this would be well above-average for normal office/web browsing. You get a considerable amount of computing for the price.

    • Would be a great buy for that.

    • If you're planning on keeping Win10, you will need to buy another 4GB RAM. I made the mistake of buying a Dell with Win10 & 4GB RAM for the most basic of tasks and it just lags on everything. Starting up: Lag. Opening Word: Lag. Opening any browser: Lag. Keeping more than 3 tabs open: Lag.
      You get the idea.
I actually bought an extra 8GB but it's not necessary - just that it was only another $30, 4GB for about $50 would be fine.

  • I've just bought another 9020 for myself in the last 10 minutes.

I set one up recently for my father and was pretty amazed at the speed that he can now browse the web and do excel/word operations. The image that they've employed is basic and very, very competent. Plug in and turn on. Used/using an adapter to connect to the router(s).

+1 for the deal - but I'd go the 9020 if you can spare the extra dollars.

Computer noob after some advice please. My son is 8. Just started using a computer for browsing, etc. No high powered games. I'd prefer him not to muck about on ours. This seems to be a very fair deal for an entry level PC. Will this computer out of the box connect to our WiFi? Thank you
Edit: I see the gentleman above recommended the 9020.

    • It won't connect to wifi out of the box, you'll need a USB adapter. I got one from eBay for about $10. As mentioned above, you may need a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter depending on your monitor. You'll need a keyboard and mouse too - these machines come with only a power cable. I've bought a couple of 9020s from these guys and been very happy with them.

    • You should set up a child's account on your PC. Then he can muck around and not affect the rest of the household.

I often found these kind of old computers in rubbish bin ……….

    • Tends to be where you find dead PC's

  • What's the difference between the 7010 and the 9010 also in their eBay shop?

  • I use an i5 7010 as my home router works perfectly

    • any chance you if it supports XP?

  • Noob video editing question: If I bought one of these to use a Windows 10 based video editor (such as Quik or VSDC) to edit and create movies using my 1080p/60FPS GoPro footage, would this rig be adequate? Does the lack of standalone graphics card make any difference to the smoothness/workflow or is pretty much all handled by the CPU?

    Thanks!

  • the code "PYIPPEE" doesn't work

    • It works for me. I must be special!

    Hi Calmago,

I'm currently overseas until 29 November. Is it possible for me to purchase one of these and delay the delivery until at least 1 December?

  • Can I use these for 4K content, when connected to a 4K monitor?

    • +1

Heard somewhere that intel integrated graphics can apparently play 4k content.

Mind that, that mighta only applied to 8th/9th gen chips.

      • +1

        Thank you.

  • +1 for great deals.

Should get something like this for my parents sooner or later…sure they'd appreciate having a proper PC. Maybe anyway, probably wouldn't use it enough to make it worthwhile.

    Regardless, great deal.
