    • Well spotted, Oz8argain. Next time, please use the Report function to alert the mods. Mods and PUs don't usually check comments to find inaccuracies.

      • 50% off is still attainable when not booking BAR/B&B

I am following the big banner which says "Sale 50% OFF*" and "*Must be a Hilton Honors member". If you wish to elaborate on the finer details of the discount, please feel free to supply additional information in the description. If you want "50% off" in the title then you should also add (Hilton Honors Membership Required) to reflect what's written in the banner.

  • Everything is still coming up as full price. Any ideas?

    • Doesn't start until 4pm EDT for us, since it starts at 2pm JST.

      • Stupid timer on their web site doesn't distinguish between time zones. Start and end times corrected.

        • did it open earlier? I am sure when I first saw it it was 5pm EDT

          • @marketingpolice: The start timer on the web site went down to zero at 2pm Sydney time.

            • @alvian: Yikes is that why my dates were sold out :( Not happy!

            • @alvian: Do you know if they were selling rooms at 50% early or was timer just broken?

              • @marketingpolice: I am sorry but I did not check if it went on sale early. The timer counted down to zero at 2pm AEDT but bitcoin and Cat911 reported seeing full prices. Then I checked again and saw the sale was supposed to begin at 2pm Japan Standard Time which was 4pm AEDT.

I highly recommend the Conrad in Osaka to anyone.

    Absolutely amazing hotel.

    • Are their basic cheapest rooms better than the Tokyo Hilton suites though? I want to stay at Conrad but there is a massive price difference.

    • prices say flash sale however don't seem to be working yet when you click on the room.

    • Geez it's Y28,000 vs Y89,000. Would be nice though…

  • Is anyone able to get the flash sale working for the Hilton Tokyo?

    • +1

I did for one second, then it went back to being unavaliable

      • Glad it’s not just me then! I might try and call..

        • tell me how it goes

        • It's back on, but they've increased the prices so it isn't that worth it

          • @pingualien: Their price of Hilton Tokyo change again. When I check May dates, It shown yen 26k/night but now shown 19.5k.

            • @jackyljj: I didn't get a chance to call, but the prices decreased for me as well, down to 22k per night for my dates which I was happy with, especially combined with the Amex offer!

            • @jackyljj: thanks jacky, just booked with the new prices

  • I can't see any discounts on the HH site. So dodgy these flash sales.

    • Use the app, website is buggy.

      • The website is working fine. It's just that there aren't any 40% deals in Tokyo Hilton Japan and I've been looking for half an hour.

        • Found some. On the more expensive Conrad though.

          • @DSOTM: None for my dates. Is anyone going to go with Conrad instead? Despite it being a lot more expensive?

            • @Saul Goodman: not worth

            • @Saul Goodman: Nearly $500 a night. All adds up too much, even though it's a brilliant hotel. Add on $2K for airfares (2 Pax) and you're starting at a price that going to make an expensive trip.

  • Anyone have any opinions between Hilton Osaka (Deluxe $300 night) vs Conrad Osaka? (Twin Premium $380 night). Sucks that Conrad would need to be a twin, but worth the upgrade?

  • Why is Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi on the list but saying it's not taking any reservations? lol

    • +1

Even at 40% off it won't be cheap ;)

Looks like it's going to be an amazing property, with amazing sky high prices.

We stayed last year at the Conrad Maldives for 7 nights and they asked for US$3,600 credit card authorisation at check-in, even though our villa was already pre-paid.

Anyway, hoping to stay at the Waldorf in 2019, otherwise we'd probably (slum it) 12 nights at the Conrad instead.

Back to the Waldorf, have a look at this computer generated promo video:-

      http://assets-intl.com/img/videos/new/170328_Ithaafushi.mp4

      • Man, if you consider Conrad slumming it, I can only imagine what a budget stay for you must be like :P

But in regards to a per night at Conrad Maldives, what's the damage?

        • +3

It really depends on the season (high/dry vs low/rainy) and if you can grab a "sales/promo" rate. I have seen rates as low as US$400++ per night which sounds expensive but is really unbelievable value. Hear me out on this, a standard beach villa is 150sqm - that's bigger than most apartments people live in! You are on an amazing luxury resort. When we stayed there for a week, they suggest you do not wear shoes everywhere, yes everywhere. From the moment we checked in, till we checked out - we wore nothing on out feet, for the entire stay. Can you remember the last time you went bare feet for the entire week?

Now where they "get" you is food and beverages ;) You go to any of the 10+ dining venues and you can't order tap water, expect to pay for Evian, Voss, San Pelligrino for around US$13-15 per bottle. A glass of white wine, expect to pay around AU$30 (so we end up paying for a bottle, from $100).

Now, the food choices are plentiful - you pay for it too ;) Fine dining at the underwater restaurant, expect little change from AU$1,000 per couple. That is about the same price, we paid for dining at the best restaurant in the world (Osteria Francescana) a few months back.

Seafood BBQ buffet on the beach, think around USD$250 per person.

Yep, room rates can be cheap - just everything else is out of this world.

And yes, we spent more than what they pre-authorised at check-in because they know it always happens. But we accept it and do it, and will go back again if we can't stay at the Waldorf.

  • Damn, already booked a long stay with them and it's non refundable.

    • Unlikely you would have got the dates you want. I got in before the start time and only one day of the whole week I wanted was available for cheap. So given this was less than $400 can't take advantage of Amex either. Fret not!

      • Thanks, that makes me feel better.

Better to spend more and get to stay where you want when you want.

  • Do they use used towels clean those glasses.

  • In Japan ATM. For 3 of us to stay in Conrad Osaka 1 room, $900/night reduced to $450aus. Will stick with airbnb

    • How much is Airbnb as a comparison?

      • Booked mine Monday for $110 a night 2 PAX

  • Booked a night at Hilton Tokyo as a treat. Ended up being $275pn on Expedia using the Westpac 10% off. I think its usually around $600 or so pn.

Looks like the deal was passed on to a lot of the travel booking sites.

  • For anyone that made a reservation, have you been charged yet?
