It's on Nougat, I've had this since March last year and it's been a solid tablet… unfortunately had the kids drop it and the screen cracked
My wife currently uses this tablet and has no complaints for web browsing and facebook. The kickstand works really well. Note that we don't game.
It is currently on 7.1.1 (1 May 2018 patch level).
I'm tempted to buy a second one as there is a dearth of stock android tablets being released.
For a little bit more, wouldn't the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus be a better pick? Or is there little in it?
The mi pad 4 plus has better internals but this should have wildvine LVL 1 for HD streaming.
Edit oh the mi pad 4 plus also has LTE if that matters.
its like $100 more. I think there are some differences and comes down to whether those difference i.e better chip and more ram is worth the price.
Keep in mind as long as any tablet performs fast and efficient for most task, many people look for screen quality and form factor/ergonomics as well as in this case the unique stand/yoga swivel and great front firing quality speakers.
I have the Yoga Tab3 8" and is fairly slow and stuck on Marshmallow, but because of form factor with that great stand, huge battery life and decent sound ( for a tablet ), I prefer using it over my faster ( and OzBargain beloved ) Lenovo TB-8703F/P8/Tab 3 Plus ( also on stock Marshmallow ), and although the screen is full HD is still prefer the more vibrant screen on the Yoga 3 8" too.
Reviews 3.8/5 on Amazon US. Hard to tell exactly though as they've bundled the reviews with 3 similar products.

Lower screen resolution on the Tab4
The Tab 4 10" is basically same specs as the P8 8" but bigger screen, usb typ C and running Android 7.

I would say no, and I assume you mean the Tab 4 as there's no Yoga Tab 4 Plus.
The Yoga Tab 3 has:

A flexible built in stand making the thing more bulky and heavier (but the stand is definitely useful)
Better processor
Great speakers

Keep in mind that although the Yoga has stand and huge battery, this makes it heavier and thicker and hence not so light and portable. I have both a Yoga 3 8" and P8 and prefer the Yoga for home and the P8 for outings lol.

I went into a JB store at midday yesterday to ask about them (to be honest I was hoping they might have some in stock) and the guy showed me that there was 147 in stock at that time.
