Kogan 55" 4K LED TV (Series 8 JU8000) - $449 + Delivery @ Kogan

80

Firstly, I know it's not a top brand of TV, and people here have warned against Kogan TVs in the past.

However, $449 for a 55 inch 4K TV does seem like a great price, if you're willing to put up with the drawbacks.

In the email it was stated that this deal expires 11:59pm on the 15th (AEDT) Deal extended, unknown expiry.

are these better than soniq tv's?

    • Equivalent I'd say

    • Better imo as they normally have more Hdmi ports than soniq

wait whats the drawback? can anyone list them please.

No drawbacks - if you're on a budget for a 4K TV you really can't do much better than this and for those that will tell you the quality is not as good as a Sony, Samsung etc etc - you can only really tell the difference when you compare them side by side. Once you get it set up at home and with the right settings it'll be perfectly watchable. I'd pair it with a soundbar as the speakers on new TVs generally suck.

And this doesn't say it is a smart TV (which I think is an advantage as I use Chromecast instead of worrying about installing software on clunky TVs).

One of the main crappy things for me at least is the boot up time. It may not seem like a lot but seriously takes like 30 seconds to a minute to turn on.

The tv remote is pretty shitty however I use an universal remote.

Of course a Sony TV or a big brand tv will display a better picture quality and whatnot but I am happy with this TV and the price I paid

Edit: not sure if this is the smart TV version but that's what I have. Maybe the boot time is a little longer because it has to load androidtv? or whatever OS it uses for the smart features
