Hi @chrism238, This how these products are called on the automotive market worldwide. They serve as scanners/ scan the data that you own on OBD2 vehicles. To get the output this scanner requires to connect to Android device via bluetooth.
I must say I have never heard of one that does bluetooth any different to that.
He wants to scan Bluetooth services nearby. I’m sure a phone does that already.

Yes should work fine. I believe MK6 is 2007-2013 and Golf in AU is OBD2 compatible from 2005 onwards. If does not work you can return it for full refund.

Cheers for the link. Since I put a different ROM on my Eonon android unit it hasn't connected to my existing ELM327 one I have through Torque, so may as well give that one a crack and see if it works or not.
Received mine this morning. Plugged in to my diesel ouylander connected my phone by Bluetooth instantly. Detected high oil level. Obd2 adapter came with free torque link
It is not the same quality hardware and chip as autohil ax2, also the cheaper ones come from overseas with no GST and pretty much no warranty and in case you will need the shipping back there will cost you more then you spent and to be honest noone will respond to you inquiry most of the times..

this one from aliexpress for ~AU$7.40 delivered -includes GST- looks pretty damn identical in terms of physical form compared to the one in this deal - except for the sticker.
I mean 8 ridges on the sides. 5 LEDs on top.
Hi @HeXa, this is not ELM327 copy. It is very good 25K80 chip and comes with 1 year local warranty and local support.
a 25K80 is just a basic PIC microcontroller, same as what the current ELM327 have

You can buy one of these types of bluetooth scanner for a couple bucks. Definitely don't need to spend $20+ when it's pretty much the same.
It is not the same and there is a difference between the products for few bucks - quality of the hardware, no GST and local warranty and support. Same like with any other products you buy.
I've bought a few of the cheap (<$10) generic eBay ones and they've all worked great with no issues.
Think I paid around $4 off eBay and it came pretty quick from Sydney with free postage , it scans it can clear error codes does the job for me :)

Hi OP - I'm sceptical that this has better hardware than the cheapo $7 one . I think this is exactly the same scanner coming from the same manufacturer slapped with different logo.
Can you back up your claim with photos of the board and provide explanation why this one is better quality?
