  • I'm seeing the price $44.89 for the gamer edition. Is there supposed to be a code?

    • +1

In the middle should have the price as $27.42. Or on the right under "other sellers on Amazon" should have like "7 new from $27.42", can click that and select Amazon US as the seller.

      • Thanks 😊

  • Even though I am a prime member, they have added $13.13 for shipping…

    • +3

Once you get to $49 of international prime items shipping will be free, as long as it’s sent by amazon.

Friendly reminder that these are all outstandingly dull games and there are thousands of games better than these, in particular Monopoly, which is simply a very bad game. If you are after a gift for someone, may I recommend Azul - winner of the 2018 Spiel de Jahres (Board Game of the Year). It has fewer rules, less luck, and overall will be more enjoyable for all involved. Can provide more examples of good games if anyone would like. Or go to https://boardgamegeek.com/ and have a look at the top games. You will notice none of the games that you can buy at Target, Big W etc. are there. That's because they are bad.

I think this is the most elitist pile of crap I have ever read. All you made me think is that if the people playing these games think like you I don't to play mate.

Like.. Scrabble, a game based completely on skill played professionally worldwide is bad? Connect 4 a game probably been in some form of the same thing for thousands of years is bad? Like I'll give you Monopoly is debatable.. but like this is all just your opinion but you're stating like its fact…

Imagine Christmas Day family sits down to play Monopoly or whatever do you start spouting about how bad the games are because you can buy them from Big W…?

Also - maybe people just like Nintendo and want to buy the Nintendo Monopoly as a collectors thing..

Why would I care if your family sits down to play Monopoly on Christmas? Do what you want. My family sit down and play better games. Happy to tell you some unless you want to keep playing the same ones forever? Sounds like you do. Scrabble - sure it has merit but there are more exciting alternatives. Connect 4 - there are more exciting alternatives. Maybe you should try something new.

Kind of contradicts your previous comment about ‘how bad’ games like Monopoly are, and how people should instead consider games like Azul - winner of the 2018 Spiel de Jahres. Save some (profanity) for the rest of us, bro.

@aja12: No, I recommended Azul in the case of gift-buying. The word recommend indicates that it's my opinion and I provided a link to the top boargaming site on the Internet for further information. People can choose to buy/play whatever they want. I'm just posting in the case that someone would like to check out games that in my opinion, and the opinion of the majority of people who play board games as a hobby (see afformentioned website) are better than the ones above.

        • Any board games you recommend for parents to play with young teenagers? We don't have any board games but thought it would be good to get some for Xmas presents.

          • @Rodo: Blokus is pretty good fun. They may also enjoy Settlers of Catan.

            • @cornbeef: Thanks for the suggestions. We played Blokus recently and thought that was fun. Might look at buying it. And I will check out Catan too.

              • +1

@Rodo: Ticket to Ride is a nice one too. easy to learn but pretty fun. In particular, I'd go for Ticket to Ride: Europe

              • @Rodo: Pretty good price at Myer Blokus $23

Or if you have Amazon prime - same price with free delivery

@cornbeef: Oh thanks, saw that one. We have played it recently and my kid does not want to get it.

Just bought Kingdomino. Found it for $20. Hope we enjoy it. Now looking for some more games.

Thanks! I am interested to learn/play new games.

    • Asakusa is correct. Most traditional boardgames are rubbish compared to newer games. We are in the golden age of board games. Monopoly one of the most terrible games, but it attracts a fondness simply out of longevity.

  • Is there anyway searching via Amazon US

  • Monopoly gamer or kart edition?

  • Scythe is also under $100: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01IPUGYK6/
Thanks OP. That was $400 I wasn't planning on spending :-P

  • I saw these on a stand at woolworths today
