    1080p 60Hz 1060 for 2.8k how do they justify the price…

It's Razer and probably one of the thinnest gaming rigs on the market.. So guaranteed to be inflated in price and bound to overheat your hands like a hotplate on the stove.

The Gigabyte Aero 15 is on sale right now 144hz screen, 10h battery 256gb more storage, 2 year warranty vs 1 and almost $300 cheaper but 2mm thicker. Would you even notice the difference though???

Welcome to Razer blade pro. The MacBook of gaming laptops.

        • It's even got the RGB keyboard to match Razer :)

The Gigabyte AERO15 is absolutely a good deal with that specifics. The specific is not the only one we compare, but also the design style and touch feeling, or even the material to build the case. A good example is , you pay more for a luxury brand car than Toyota, even both cars have the similar specific. and also Razer has a range of popular gaming accessories which gamer may build as a set.

          • @laptopbargain: It's a good price for someone dead set on this model but theres just so many options out there today.

        • Would highly recommend the Gigabyte Aero 15. Bought it last year at approx 2400(after ebay discount and TRS) from Kong Computers. I use it for gaming and university work and works perfectly. The bezel-less screen is just beautiful and its pretty portable due to its light weight.

          • @fgambino111: I wish I didn't buy p35x so early..

Been looking for a glowing green frying pan to cook my eggs.

Not sure why people think a gaming laptop can be slim. If we had efficient cooling systems then we would be over clocking shit more and selling the cpus and gpus that way to begin with. There is a reason all Alienware and top level Asus rog/msi laptops are small minibuses with huge vents.

how do they justify the price…

There was/is? no ultrabooks with dedicated graphics. It's the thinnest gaming laptop you can buy.

  • Gaming laptops are nothing but trouble. Avoid

Thin gaming laptops are nothing but trouble. If you get something massive and heavy with good cooling then you're Gucci. Even my entry level Inspiron gaming laptop runs perfectly because they didn't skimp on the heatsinks and fans. Weighs a ton, sounds like a jet but runs like a dream.

      • You might be onto something. Both of my laptops with discrete graphics are fairly thin

    Where?

  • Razer is like the Apple of gaming industry.

    • Well, to be fair, most of Apple's products are not a bit shit (although reviews seem to like this particular product). :p

      • Because a lot of them were probably sent review/engineering units and didn't have to pay for it out of the pocket.

  • I bought the MSI GE63 Raider RGB edition on an eofy sale for $2400, best purchase I have ever bought. It has a 120hz panel and a 1070, doesn't get too hot at all.

    • That's almost 20% off. We do have GE63 in stock too but it's around 3K for 1070. That RGB Keyboard and top cover led looks amazing.

    NEW 2017 Razer Blade V5 14" FULL HD i7 16GB nVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB Laptop Gaming"

That's mine from 20months ago, its crazy they have barely updated it in 2 years.

  • Look, I am probably just the most unlucky person in the world, but I originally bought the Razer Blade Stealth 2016, to replace my aging Asus UX31A. It locked up twice a day (on average). Got it replaced, locked up twice a day, got it repaired, locked up twice a day, one more replacement as Razer were sure they had it nailed, freeze, freeze, freeze. This is all through e-mail support which frequently takes 48 hours to respond. I demanded my money back. Was told no. Got store credit.

Picked the Razer Blade 2017 instead (didn't want to touch the stealth with a barge pole any more). What do you know, it was BETTER. I wasn't locking up twice a day, but every 2 days or so it would blue screen. Eventually through Windows updates, it would better, than worsen, then improve again. Razer kept telling me to reset it, which I did a few times and even spent week with none of my usual software on it, it still behaved erratically. It's actually not been too bad Q3 this year. I think it may have had an issue once every two weeks. Now it's rubbish again, I cannot leave it overnight without returning to a blank screen in the morning, all fans blaring, and no response.

    I'm SO over it.

In the meantime my UX31A still works 100%. No freezes, no blue screens, EVER.

Like I said, I'm probably unlucky, however the internet is pretty rife with Razer horror stories.

All up to you to make up your own minds, but I wouldn't ever buy a Razer laptop again. Their other peripherals, accessories, audio etc I've never had an issue with but their notebooks aren't good and their support is shocking.

  • I have used and can happily vouch for Venom laptops from MLN for the last 5 years. Although pricey and bulky they are rock solid. Mine has been everywhere, including camping with family. Never failed me.

Not a good deal TBH. Asus GL504GM, Aero 15, HP Omen 15, etc etc. Vastly superior screen quality, better specs, better reviews.
