Is this the official price vs performance OLED TV of OZB? Like the Hisense N7 was for LED?
I'm looking for an OLED to by in Jan and trying to figure out where that sweet spot is for OLED Price/Performance. I can live with 55" massive upgrade from my 12 year old 100cm LCD.
I got the Pana OLED 55 for just under 2k during the good guys 20% ebay offer which offers good performance. Only caveat is the OS and dolby vision.
I too bought the Panasonic OLED a few weeks ago. It's a nice TV,, however my big gripe is that it does not have a 'Program Reminder' function :( - even my 15yr old Plasma had Program Reminder … grrrrr…. I just assumed this function was standard on such high-end TV's…typical.
Looking at rtings this is essentially the same panel as the E8 and only slightly behind the new Sony A9F which doesn't seem to be out here so def.
Universally loved this C8 and also very good for gaming.
Just waiting for hoping good deal on the 65inch
Sony A9F is out here and has been for a few weeks. Checkout Videopro. The price however will make your eyes water currently.
I'm hoping for another ~$1700 price like Good Guys end of last year on the B7.
That will be a massive upgrade. 40inches to 55 OLED. Hell I'm planning to get one to replace my 55 Hisense.
I got it on that after Christmas/Boxing day deal, still blows my socks off whenever I watch 4k movies on the B7.
Same. Red Dead 2 looks so good on it.
My experience with the LG C8 55" has been very poor. The screen has absolutely terrible grey uniformity and LG doesn't want to admit that there's a problem. Just be warned that if you get a poor panel you may be in for a horrible customer experience.
Lots of unhappy LG OLED customers with a bit of Googling, might be better off dealing with a local retailer.
Given that LG are the only ones manufacturing OLED screens, wouldn't the issues apply to ALL brands?

Honestly the grey banding is the only issue I've had with mine. Only noticeable on my Xboxs menus. Still happy with my display as I feel like all of the pros out weigh this small issue specific issue.
It's a shame they have the stupid curved stand that sticks out which means that you can't put a soundbar right up against it or underneath it. My soundbar fits perfectly under my C6
anyone think any of the major retailers will price match or go 1999 for this unit? Thats my sweet spot and won't have to wait long on despatch.
Been keeping an eye on the prices of these for a while now. About 6 weeks ago the cheapest I saw was around $2800. Crazy to see how quickly the price has dropped. A bit like the Sony WH 1000XM3's.
Agree with OLED grey uniformity comments.
Certainly whilst it is annoying, no-one looks at a grey screen all day.
Prefer to put up with that over backlight clouding.
that is such a good price even including delivery, bought the pana oled 55 few weeks ago and would have loved this one instead. Good find OP
