[NSW] Tray of Blueberries (Imperfect 12x 125g Punnets) $12 ($8/kg) @ Harris Farm - Drummoyne (Also Possibly Elsewhere)

530

Saw this at Harris Farm Drummoyne this morning. Apparently offer at other Harris Farm stores too.
Labelled as Imperfect but I checked some packs & nothing wrong with blueberries at all.

Tray has 12 punnets of 125g packs so 1.5kg total. $8 per kilo price.
They freeze really well so hoping this post is useful to anyone nearby.

    I think you mean 1.5kg? (12 x 125g = 1500g). That makes for an amazing $8/kg.

Usually when they have these deals it's because the berries are rain affected. If previous experience is anything to go by, they will likely start flogging their strawberries too.
Whenever I've bought them they've been fine, but would get mouldy quite quickly (I don't know if it's because of the rain, or just standard decay, but it would happen in around 4 days).
I recommend instantly chucking whatever you're not going to use within a week straight into the freezer.

  • Erina Fair NSW Harris Farm had them yesterday afternoon for $14 a tray and imperfect Mangoes for $10 a tray (my tray had 22 large delicious Mangoes).

    • Were your mangoes pretty ripe? The ones at my local are, so passed up on it. Did get heaps of blueberries though.

They were ready to eat but will be OK over the weekend too. 10 of them got donated to World Teachers Day👍

Does anyone who work in the industry know who much HF are paying per punnet? Who's taking a haircut on this, the grower/coop or HF?

    • Most likely the grower. If there were imperfections, that's on the grower, not HF's issue. And given the short shelf life, it's unlikely issues to do with HF like overstocking.

  • Available today at Potts Point :)

  • Also available at Pennant Hills
