I read every response in this thread, including that conversation exchange between himself and Taylor. My store here does not operate like that sadly. Receipt or rack off.
@ThePriceMatchGuy: HN can be awkward regarding price-matching. The bulk of HN stores are not owned by HN but franchised from them. It means the stores are bound by certain HN regulations but otherwise decide to a certain extent their selling policy. I have a good relationship with our local HN store which is a very small franchisee with two stores in regional NSW. They point out that their margins have to be higher than they are in high turnover large city stores or go bust. So their policy is to only give the price match guarantee when it's against a rival store in the district. Regarding online price-matching they will look in their book for the price the HN warehouse is invoicing them and quote you that plus their decided lowest margin.
@philart: Yeah, I just tried to explain myself in plain English to an online chat assistant. Despite a precedent being set by another employee refused profusely. Bad business practice in my view. He argued that a $50 saving is significant and offers only matched if it is available to the general public, which this is.
I understand the concept of margins. But if this store can do it HN has no excuse. Especially their dirty up-selling tactics.
I purchased this from an earlier deal from ATA, i.e. competing with QFF promo.(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/402465)
I am quite happy with it except for when making a call, the person on the other end of the call can hear echoes of themselves and that the call quality is muffled.
Anyone else has had this issue?
thanks i price match and got them from JBHIFI
online or in-store ?
It should have been in-store, I dont see an option to chat with JB HiFi. A receipt copy would help, if you can please :)
I second this ^
hi mate, are you kindly able to send through a copy of your receipt? I would like to also grab them from JB.
Harvey Norman will NOT Price Match this offer.
"Taylor is no longer with them.."
RIP to Taylor.
Let's face it Harvey Norman are shit house. IF it wasn't for this amex offer no one would be shopping there for anything. Look at all the other stores like JB that are price matching with no issues.
Can they actually be done at JB? I'm not holding my breath until I see a receipt.
I just phoned my nearest store and they said they wouldn't do it.
Post above did (Anthrox). I'd ask him/her how they did it!
@robbiey: JB price match it for me! I just showed them the pricing on the website. But i went with DJs instead as I've got a giftcard!
Do the special sound modes carry over to different devices (ex: windows/mac osx) or are they exclusive to decices with the app?
So for example, if I put bass boost on the sony connect app and then connect to Windows, will the bass boost/sound profile from the app be identical on Windows.
OMG, the price is damn good. Wouldn't hesitate to get it if I haven't bought the previous model last year.
bought one ffs - I'm happy and mad at the same time lol
Lol the madness
Hi addictedtoaudio, any chance you would do the same price on your eBay store?
Unfortunately cant at this stage sorry!
Update: Purchased from JB-Hi-Fi for $349.95.
Would have purchased from ATA but I am out of the country tomorrow afternoon and cannot wait on shipping.
Called a few JB store for price matching but got rejected. Can you upload your receipt for the price match? Thank you!
It will be greatly appreciated if you could upload the receipt.
I am a total noob when it comes to uploading photos for sharing online.
Feel free to PM me on OB and I can email you a clear copy of my full receipt!
PM’d!
Anyone has any idea if this works on skype on laptop? I use Skype for work. So it’ll be great if I don’t have to switch to another headphones just to pick up calls.
In this case, better get a bose.
Why? They're not talking about connecting them to multiple devices, they're talking about avoiding having to use multiple headphones on a single device.
the mic is still a bit effie.. not sure if its all of them - but it just sounds like your in the toilet/ under water sometimes (if you get what I mean)
I'm pretty interested in buying these but unsure how the whole GST thing works out? I'm going over to Japan on the 21st of December, would that make me eligible to claim the GST back on these headphones effectively making them another 10% cheaper?
You should be able to as you are within 60 days before you departure.
Do we need to take the original box at the airport to claim the GST? Or just headphones is fine?
Just the headphones is fine. I bought a watch and was wearing it and i claimed trs on it.
Half the time they don't even check the merchandise. Last time i flew out of Melbourne, the miserable looking paper pusher wearing a border force uniform on a power trip was too busy acting like she was doing me a huge favor to even bother checking the items. Stood there for a good 5 mins before the 2 idiots finished talking to each other and acknowledged my presence. /rant over
Can you just get rid of the coupon and advertise it at $350?
I want to buy it at David Jones because i have gift cards
They want you to buy it from them.
"Can't you just lose money? I want to spend my money elsewhere" - smuggler
yes
THey won't lose anything.
If you dont buy from them then they lost money.
Anyone know what the cheapest i can price match to JB is? Really need to grab a pair before saturday but i can't get to the store in newtown.
I just picked up a pair for $349. Just call your local store
Great price! I'll order a pair tomorrow.
I DON'T NEED THIS!
But I bought one anyway…. at this price how can I resist??
Normally I'd be irritated that I could've saved myself $50 by waiting another week.. but these are so good I don't even care. If you're on the fence, just buy them!
Pleasant surprise my Oneplus 6 supports LDAC, that high-res audio goodness!
Went into JB to try them on (already bought them) , saw a poor student opening his wallet for $399 and then I helped him to price match at $349.
He was over the moon but did I do the right thing?
Did the nice sales lady miss out on her commission? Is JB hurting coz of the rent vs an online store?
Bit of a moral dilemma here for me…what do you think?
I thought addicted to audio was both online and brick and mortar? As a poor student myself, I assure you did the right thing :)
Moral dilemma? Save it for something worthwhile.
I went to JB tonight and showed the staff the receipt photo I got from ozbargainer for $349 at JB in NT. Still rejected the price match and said it was a 'promotion' in different state. No worries, I can save the money for black Friday or Christmas sales now:D
Just curious, why do you guys go to the trouble of matchpricing at JBHIFI instead of buying from the retailer offering the deal in the first place?
Why not support the store actively trying to earn your business by posting deals on Ozbargain?
I could understand if JBHIFI were price beating Addicted to Audio's price or if they were offering a cheaper price; But in most cases they're simply matching it.
Addicted to Audio is also offering free express shipping, so it doesn't matter if there isn't a store near you.
JBHIFi made 4 billion dollars in 2016, is it just marketing/buying from a 'brand name store' that pushes people to buy from them instead of a smaller retailer?
I think people prefer to price-match in local, physical stores than the original online sellers for two reasons:
In addition, in the stores you get the chance to try on, or look at, the stuff in person before you pull the trigger, something you can't do if you're buying stuff online. Unless it's cheaper to buy something online, it's always better to buy from a local store if the price is similar.
Went into JB Today to try to get them to price match $350. I was buying 2 pairs for my kids so was after 1 in Silver and 1 in black. The guy was able to do me $299.25 on the silver, but couldn’t do under $380 something for the black. Purchased 2 pairs of silver instead!
Good deal! The JB stores in Brisbane CBD will not sell at this price though. Wondering which state you are at?
wow well done, which store was this?
Victoria, Fountain Gate.
cool thanks, guess might try my luck in sydney then… :)
Hi, might I be able to trouble you for a receipt please? Thinking of getting these :)
I was at Costco today and it is the same price atm as they have a $50 discount.
I bought these and I am having a crackling issue with them from the left ear cup only when noise cancelling is on. This happens when I am walking or on a bus. It is very annoying and is a major issue.
should i buy these at this price or wait longer?
can i contact to you
who
Ok, sure.
Hey could you send everyone who bought these a tax invoice via email? There wasn’t a hard copy included with the delivered package.
Are these available in store Newtown?
Can any reps send me a code? ill buy asap : )
The reason is simple, because you didn't spend some time read through the whole thread. If you did, you should be able to see there is a very helpful post from Gembel about how he managed to get HN price-matched.
Edit: Need to clarify that Not me negged you though……..
