What phone does?
who cares?
SOmeone buy phones because they want to keep it for a very long time.
Price has held up pretty well. I got mine for $1150 since launch.
$1499 - $150 cashrewards rebate - $100 for selling Fortnite skin - $100 for difference in trade in value Samsung tradeup offered vs. selling P2XL on Gumtree/ebay.
512GB is truly awesome and is not something you appreciate until you have. It's become my primary media machine for movies, music etc. Also don't have to make a choice about which games to keep on the phone, as you can have them all.
I have the Note 8, not sure if its worth upgrading. Is the camera much better than S8/Note 8 ?
Incrementally better. Depends on your changeover costs, but I personally wouldn't if its more than a few hundred dollars.
I had the S8+ previously - the Note 9 feels smoother and less laggy with a better battery. Not sure if that's due to hardware or software improvements.
Biggest difference I felt from the P2XL was the better screen (size and quality) with better battery life and comparable camera. Storage increase from 64GB to 512GB was also huge. S-Pen stuff was a bonus.
I would say people are happy to keep their expensive phones for at least 2 years if they don't explode:D
Also, the improvements on newer phones are not as significant as before and the R&D cost on the chip is surging. Just ridiculous price on Apple's latest products and every manufacturer follows the trend.
They are now as much as laptops - it would be ok if they could do as much as one.
Definitely, if a phone can switch to computer mode, that will be my next purchase.
All the ones that support thunderbolt, or hdmi out kinda can.
I carry a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and a hdmi cable with me.
Plug phone into any tv and im good to go.
They're as much as a cheap car too!
Guess how much apple will sell phone with 512GB/8GB…
$10,000
About same price as now. $2.5k
Not surprised sold at $3,000 and for larger battery and fast charger at $500…..Apple fans will pay for it anyway.
My 10 yo son won one in a comp, and I'm jealous. Battery life is amazing, he gives it a beating
2 questions.
Did the apature blades in the camera become a real thing? It was spoken about as the next advancement.
Can this be rooted and have touchwiz/vanilla rom of any sort installed.
LOVE samsung build quality.
HATE the OS, if only for the amount of times it randomly hits my firewall with no additional apps….
1) Yes. Mechanical blade changes from F1.5 to 2.4
2) Yes. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/development/r…
I think Samsung software has improved a lot over the past 2 years in particular. Features are genuinely useful but if you don't want to, they're not in your face. Duplicate apps can be disabled. Most importantly its no longer laggy. My Note 9 is more fluid and faster than the P2XL.
No real changes in Android Pie that aren't already baked into Samsung 8.1. Samsung's are still getting ~monthly security updates. Let the Pixel users pay a premium to be the beta testers.
YMMV. I'm manufacturer agnostic. Have used 2 gens of Pixel, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Motorola, HTC, Sony, Essential phone.
Most importantly its no longer laggy
Well, that depends :)
For me? Most importantly, it's no longer phoning home with 'data' its not asking me for.
The S9 still does :(
Does this come with tax invoice for trs refund?
Its from allphones. Can't see where it won't come with tax invoice.
Don't forget to redeem your $350 JBL Noise Cancelling headphones!
They are not a participating retailer (https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/p5/au/terms-co…) for the offer. Hence I went with TGG ebay 20% deal. Cost me about $1.2K.
The 512GB/8GB unit for approx $100 more very tempting deal over a 128GB/6GB + Wireless HeadUnit.
Just bought a Note9 australian stock from allphones with this code, 128GB blue dual sim model number SM-N960FZBDXSA on listing which matches that on the Samsung AU site. Arrived today but the model number on the sticker on the phone is SM-N960F/DS. Is that an australian delivered Note9 or an asian model?
I said before Samsung phones don’t hold up its RRP too long.
