i don't know that this is necessarily a good deal but individual switches are something i've always valued.
Seems to have good reviews and has a 1800J rating.
I bought that exact item a couple of weeks ago, really good product. Had issues with delivery (Aust. Post stuffed up), the seller responded almost immediately, helped resolve the issue. Good seller, great item.
That one is $40, isn’t it?
That's $40 advertised on ebay!
Assuming the quality ok, individual switches make it worthwhile imho.
Also $9.95 postage
Aldi has an 8-outlet surge protected board for $25 at the moment
I strongly do not recommend this brand. I've bought two switched powerboards from Woolworths and both have failed under a year.
Waiting for the Jackson 5 jokes
That's racist
You'll probs be waiting a long time
Agree, I have also had a Jackson product from WW fail, but to their credit WW have given me a full refund without asking any questions.
I hate that a lot of retailers don't list the protection ratings on their stocks.
Energy Absorption (outlets) 700 Joules
Energy Absorption (phone line) 350 Joules
https://www.ji.com.au/products/PT6012/A bit meh, I doubt it'll last over 2 years.
Thanks for that. Yeah it's really annoying retailers don't list the joules. Will give this a miss, there are better options available at similar prices.
No USB no fark give
Dumb question - isn't your house (and all the sockets) protected by the fuse box thing? I know it's been tripped in our unit a few times during storms, and no equipment was damaged.
Why the need for these protected power boards?
Circuit breakers job is to prevent overdraw of current. They prevent wiring from burning up which can lead to house fires. They aren't meant to handle voltage spikes that can damage your equipment like surge protectors.
Power boards are nearly useless catching trips from the product, atleast from our massive amount of Chinese goods.
This being said from my house with a lot of expensive powerboards from jaycarSo is it necessary to get these? I've always wondered as I live in an area with heaps of storms and I've never had any equipment damaged from surges etc. And I don't know anyone else who has either. But everyone seems to think you would be crazy not to have surge protectors/surge boards. Is it all just a marketing scam? Or do we really need these?
