noneother: They can't legally do that AFAIK. Providing the WHOIS data is in your name (which it should me) there's nothing they can do to stop you transferring away.

Dotster is a medium size registrar who manages around 400,000 domains — I don't think they'll pull the trick of not allowing moving the domains.
It's 1am and I am still around here posting. I don't think I'll have any chance scoring a free domain in 5 hours :(
These guys pulled the wool over our eyes. It's 6am and it tells you to "Create an account and stay informed via email so you can be among the first in line to receive 1 of 500 free domains!". Their server is down too. Also I think they changed the time "On Thursday, April 17 at 4PM Eastern (1PM Pacific)"?
Have to remember to wake up early tomorrow morning…
