Thank you. Added to OP :)

    • +1

Thank you, I ordered today a hisense 55p7 at a really good price( true 20% discount)
They even called me to tell me that it will be delivered tomorrow, yay!

      • Got a link to the 55p7? I was looking for this before using the search link without luck… Who was the seller?

Edit; nevermind, just worked out that items that can't be posted to my postcode are excluded from the searches.

        • Better luck next time

    Price jacking starts now..

    • +4

started 6 days ago. Hero7 black listed 10% higher than the RRP at camerastore

    • +7

      yeah, it's all on

      my-phonez iphone x 256gb deal here last week $1382

      my-phonez iphone x 256gb now $2010

Although I did see this for $1600…lets see if it changes tomorrow

      ALL iphone prices severely jacked

      • +1

Yeah still haven't learnt after being in the news articles disgusting practice!!

      • Think of it as a blessing in disguise.

      • +6

Although I did see this(ebay.com.au) for $1600…lets see if it changes tomorrow

********yes they removed the one for $1600**********

        Just 10 minutes ago

        Relisted at $1985

What a total bunch of scumbags

      • +2

I actually used your comments to lodge an ACCC complaint. Great work!

    • +6

Wow …iphone 8 plus RRP $1150 my-phonez selling $1458 with 20% off it's still more expensive than RRP

      • -2

Do you blame them though? It would be hilarious reading these comments in their shoes!

        • +8

Why would it be hilarious reading them in their shoes?

A while back I had a phone ready to buy, I did a page refresh and the price went up over $200. Of course I didn't buy it, so they missed out on a sale

I sent them a message asking what happened….never got a reply

          • @slipperypete: Because the only logical reason they do it is to piss off their customers and they obviously find it incredibly amusing.

          • +1

@slipperypete: be aware of my-phonez. Many bad reviews on ozbargains about selling activated phone (it just like new), or phone from UAE.

            • +1

@codinghelloworld: yeah I heard this too. They claimed transparency on that so will acceppt that they notify if that is the case

However, this sort of price jacking is totally outrageous and on that level I don't consider them to be trustworthy.

    • +15

I can't wait until Amazon comes and introduces some real competition. Then all this price jacking nonsense will have to stop.

      • +5

        It's been a year, nothing.
Amazon charges higher fees, it's got come from buyers.

      • +2

Real competition was hit by GST on item from overseas below $1,000.

  • +4

can't wait for them price hikes
hopefully there's at least a couple of decent deals to make it worthwhile

  • +1

Lower the price jack % and we will all still be happy.

  • -6

    Any decent android phone deals?

    • Maybe but probably not.

  • Wouldn't mind an nvme or so dimm deal to complement the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 from a few of days ago :)

  • Just need parts to build PC.

    Hope they have computer alliance.

    • +1

      Computer Alliance don't price jack?

      • Yes but they have shipping but free if you have eBay Plus.

  • Any deal on poco

  • +22
    • +9

“All sellers who take part in our retail promotions are subject to contractual terms and conditions that prohibit the inflation of pricing to take advantage of discounts,” they said.

      LOL

    • Sadly only Kogan has been fined for it, despite several companies doing the exact same thing since. https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/kogan-pays-32400-penal…

      • Maybe we should all report the stores to the ACCC. 500+ reports might do somthing

  • -2

Any PS4 Pro deals as a result of this?

    • -2

      Same question

  • +1

Tech stores again, was hoping for some Lego deals.

  • +3

Search link PC parts are already at least 20% above their market prices, jack it up higher!

    • +5

wtf man just search for it

      • +9

I'm lazy. Neg me. lets set a new record.

        • +4

Out of objection to your attention-seeking baiting, I plussed you.

My public duty is done for another day.

        • +1

You'll have to refuse to park at a drive through for that one, sorry.

    • lazy bones :)

  • Why not 34% off 20 stores? huhhuhuhuhuh

    • +3

can't price jack enough to hide it if its 34%

      • I think you're underestimating Jack's abilities

    • Clicked on this deal just to see how long it was before someone mentioned this hahahaha

    • No…I prefer 80% off …Then they can jack up the price 240%

At least 80% off sounds awesome

  • Shame what I’m looking for isn’t on there. Hoping for another 10/15% sitewide soon!

    Need tv

    • +1

      Good Guys?

    • +1

      Ok

      • +1

        Thanks for the interest.

    • +1

      To watch?

      • Just thinking of other TV uses. TV, as in television 📺.

        • I wasn't sure if s/he was after a tv to watch or buy.

  • No Airpods :(

    • +1

hey mate, if the price isn't jacked, allphones will have the airpods for $183.20 here

      • +2

Hey mate thanks for posting that. Weird it didn't come up when I searched the link. I haven't used my eBay Plus trial yet so it should work out pretty good for me if they don't price jack. Happy days.

        • They have $14.80 for delivery though. No option for free postage. Unless you have eBay plus.

      • -1

        Oh, look at that!
Gah, ebay suggested I use the 5% off code.
        Do the codes stack?

    • Signed up for an eBay plus trial and it went through at $183.20. Very happy.

  • +5

another eBay sale and I don't need anything. something wrong with me? a year ago a post like this would make my heart beat faster (and stop checking balance on my AMEX), but now.. oh hang on maybe I could buy a dash cam, woo hoo

although I must admit I was going to pull the trigger on the Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop during the previous sale, but then.. nah, I don't want to pay extra $$$ for power I need 4 times per year, and to haul around 1 kilo more than I already do.

    • +17

Usually people internalise these kind of things, but I suppose OzBargain is just as good, right?

      • +1

It's good, I like to read the thought process of highly successful people like kasaresj.

      • yeah big bad kasares discovered a trick to pay off credit cards in a month, ozBargainers hate him!

        • Haha nice.

          Now what's the trick? ;)

          • @WhyAmICommenting: it's simple: don't buy what you don't need! :D

don't get me wrong, ozBargain enabled me to upgrade everything in my home exactly to the standards I expect without breaking the bank, but after a few impulse buys afterwards now I just carefully assess whether I need another improvement to anything I already have or not. most of the time it's marginal, or improvement I don't care about.

Like a laptop, for example. I scored a Lenovo with i7-7500U for ridiculous money from one of the deals here. Upgraded the screen, installed SSD, and increased capacity battery, and I am happy as hell with it, while before that I would switch laptops every couple of months. Yes there are laptops that perform better. 4 cores are always better than 2. No it doesn't have NVme, but I just don't need anything faster than what I already have.

  • +1

I need you boys and girls to pump me up to buy the 86 inch LG TV (4k hdr 10bit) for around 4700 delivered…

I didnt pull the trigger last time… the deal is coming back tomorrow……………..

    • maximum discount of $1000

      Not quite there

    • +2

Wait for next time. And then when next time comes, wait for the next one after that.

      • Until they basically pay you to have an 86" LG TV.

    • +2

      It's a trap don't do it

    • +1

Do it, so that people like me will feel better about all our impulsive purchases so far this year.

    • +1

Wait for 8k at that size

  • +1

Thinking of buying a monitor from Futu Online, does anyone know what their policy is if the monitor arrives with dead pixels or crazy back light bleed? Will I be able to get a replacement?

    • +2

Futu would probably know what their policy is - have you tried asking them?

    • I ordered a Dell Ultrasharp monitor which had disgusting backlight bleeding. Went through the refund process in ebay with a couple of photos and futu sent a postage sticker so i could send it back for free. Got a full refund after a week or so, was very smooth with no quabbles.
But this was nearly two years ago so…as dm01 says, you should ask them for their policy.

    • +1

s3277448, are you an RMIT student?

      • Exactly what I thought haha

  • Dammit, had a regular store I was hoping was included for a new high end router.

    • Just get a Edgerouter and save some cash, great router too

  • YEAH!! That's what I was waiting for :)

  • +1

They must be having good sales figure even with the price jacking, else why keep doing it all the time. Bought a monitor in the last 10% off and 10% off gift card, so get about 19% off which is much better than all these 20% off promotion.

    • -2

19% off which is much better than all these 20% off

Um I think you need to consult mathnerd on that one ?

      • +1

        Depends how the discount is applied. $100 @ 10% off is $90, $90 @ 10% off is $81 given a discount equivalent to 19%.

I believe he’s also implying to these 20% offs are only given when prices are inflated, therefore the 19% is better than the 20% because the starting value is lower.

    • Because a lot of people don't realise they're not really saving - it's a common marketing tactic. "Save xx%!!!" and people instinctively think they're getting a deal but you've got to check where you're starting the savings from. Great example is electricity suppliers and their percentage rates.

  • +10

Futu should just leave their jacked up prices up since they are in every sale

  • -1

Haha haha haha haha. Ok I will stop laughing now.

  • No local shop selling a god damn Godox Ad600BM

    • Just buy like, 1/3 of a Profoto.

  • -2

    Any decent router deals?

    • +3

I'm too lazy to look as well.

      • -1

I meant what would be a good model…

  • Price jacking makes this tough.

No one is selling the Sony WH-1000XM3s cheaper than the current cheap deal.
