[VIC] Bicycle Repair Stand $15.99 (Was $39.99) @ ALDI (Brunswick)

590

Something bicycle related still in stock in Brunswick? Yes, I too was in shock. These bicycle repair stands were first put on sale for $39.99 (OzBargain Deal) and have been reduced to $15.99. 16 in stock (finally a clearance item that is good and has enough stock for a deal!).

  • Extendable bicycle repair stand
  • Quick release
  • clamping system
  • Foldable and easy to store

I visit ALDI fairly regularly so I'll update the stock numbers every couple of days.

Also in-stock on clearance (Updated 15/10 7PM):

most people dont repair bikes in Brunswick anymore? it used to be a blue-collar suburb.

    • +3

why would you repair them, o-bike grow on tree around there.

      • +1

They've cleared all of them as they are out of business now. Not even hard rubbish lasts more than a few hours on the streets here!

        • +1

Don’t forget it’s hard rubbish month (twice a year from now)

          • +1

@greenlantern: Oh yeah, I'd forgotten it was twice a year now and was wondering why there was so much crap on the footpaths.

      • +1

climate changed seems to have caused the O-bike leaves to disappear from the trees.

Repair? Brunswick bicycles only have one gear and no brakes. What is to repair?

  • +1

Turn the bike upside down…it's usually to repair a flat tyre anyway.

I am after a wireless weather station that I picked up from ALDI about 5 years ago (it's died). Has anyone seen them at Aldi's recently?

    • +8

On my $200+ saddle, I think not :)

    • +2

They'll generally only have clearance from recent sales. The longest I've seen something on clearance is probably 10 months, definitely not 5 years. Looking at the ALDI archive, it doesn't look like they've had a wireless weather station since 2012.

some people actually clean and lubricate their drivetrain occasionally.

      • +2

Some people use WD40… some use motor oil!

        • +7

hipsters use flaxseed oil, it's high in omega 3, it's vegan, and it's high in anti-oxidants …

        • +2

Don't use wd40. I use chainsaw oil. I probably don't need it as much as I used to in the wet conditions in the UK, but it still does a great job of sticking to the drivetrain and not becoming a yucky grinding paste.

But seriously, I sometimes turn my bike upside down for basic repairs.

  • damn it!

I've got one of these from a couple of years ago. Looks the same. It's a pretty solid, functional unit. I'm happy with it.

    • +1

      Me too.
Wish I had of waited. Paid full price a few weeks back.
I should have kept my receipt. Serves me right, I suppose, for being a bad ozbargainer.

Wow, great price! Still happy I got mine at full price last year, some adjusting of gears and brakes and that $349 MTB became my preferred day to day ride.

  • Has anyone seen the normal 2-bike stands available anywhere by any chance? I hate myself for giving that a miss. Thanks.

    • +4

There's a few at Carnes hill NSW, was marked down to $40 last week. Just incase you're not aware it needs to be fixed into the wall. I had to return mine because I thought it was freestanding.

      • Thank you very much for this mate!

    • Has anyone seen a 2 bike stand in Aldi around south-east Melbourne? I can travel to the west or north too. I already have one and it's a great unit.

If it is the same as I bought from Aldi, it's a piece of shit. The problem is that the grip is way to wide hence you can't grab a full suspension bike, especially the one's with a dropper.

    • +2

That doesn't make it a piece of shit, it just makes it unsuitable for your bike. I have one. It might not be as good as other stands I've used, but it's a tenth the price of those and does the job.

  • hopefully the same for all other stores!

  • Is there much stock of the kids bike trailer, if you remember ? I really want it but gotta wait till after work, hoping for stock left

    • 4 left.

      • Cheers!

        • 2 left now, as of 7pm

  • +1

    Aldi, Aldis, Aldarem…

    LATIN!

  • I paid $40 for one, it sucks , not worth $15 unless you want to hack the stand and use it for something else

  • +1

This is a really good stand, I have the same one I got off eBay which is still going strong. It’s so good I got another one to take it overseas. Highly recommended. It’s just a bit heavy though if you have to carry it around.

  • Anyone in WA know of the trailers in stock? Was waiting for them to come on clearance but may have left the run too late.
