I have the kitchenaid hamster driven blender.
There are magentic drive motors (magnetic coupling), used in submerged pumps so they totally isolate the wet drive end from the motor (rather then just using seals). But this looks like just marketing BS.
I have not use one of these. However, from what I can tell "Magnetic Drive" seems to be synonymous with what Sunbeam calls "Induction motor"

Based on price alone (within the Sunbeam range), I assume that they are better in terms of longevity.

I have considered buying these but have found them just a bit too dear.

Is there a blender thats not magnetically driven. How else do you create physical movement with electricity?
