        Exactly. While you may be saving money on your dinner, it will be difficult to resist (or rather the partner to resist) either of those. There's always gelati and the lolly store nearby as well.

        You may have a point with La Porchetta (Carlton North), Ash. Consistent, decent food and nothing tempting nearby to spend money on ;). I guess I look at these deals a bit different. Friday is our usual go out to eat night and no matter where I go the minimum spend even at La Porchetta will be $40 but usually closer to $60+ depending on the restaurant and how thirsty I am. So $29 is the right price point for a dinner even if it is very similar to the Italian food in the rest of the street.

        I agree entirely. I gladly go to these kinds of places and enjoy my meal, but some people seem to expect too much. As soon as they hear a restaurant name that ISN'T a chain, they expect 5 star quality.

  In my opinion this restaurant is nothing special. Similar in quality to La Porchetta. There are a lot of amazing italian resturants on Lygon street and this just pales in comparison.
