A new record, keep it up!

Cashrewards deal seems better if your buying something over $500. (Becasue cashrewards has no $50 cashback cap for amazon)

    Fight, fight!!

  • Wow, makes Super Mario Party $58 now!!

    • tempted, I'm wondering if I should wait for black friday sales.

      • Me too. Finding it hard to buy now or wait. Red Dead is an easy choice though.

But Party, Octopath, Kirby, Mario Tennis and Xenoblade, damn some good deals to be had here. Good value on all of them.

  • +1

    CR just increased to 12.5%!

    • +2

      Let's match!

      • Can you do a deal with eBay? :D

        • We recently did one, but maybe not another one this soon yet :)

      • Do you know if pre-orders qualify for cashback?

Let's say you order a console game that releases a month later, and Amazon typically doesn't charge you until the game ships. Will cashback still track?

        • +1

          Hey scrimshaw,

Yes - provided the item is shipped within 60 days of purchase.

          • @gotyourback: I've made a preorder for a game released on November 2 using Shopback based on this statement. I hope it's accurate, but definitely nervous since I won't have confirmation about it until after the game is charged to my account on release day.

      • So your max $100 too?

        • -1

Just the rate, still capped at $50.

  • What a time to be an Ozbargainer! To have cashrewards and shopback bout it out, this is competition at its finest!

    • This is where we need a ~$200 860 EVO 1TB deal to pop up on Amazon, with a free set of Eneloops thrown in along with a Xiaomi pen.

      • That would be amazing!

  • is it just me or anyone else seeing it as 12.5% cashback??

    • +1

      12.5% now!

      • +1

Hey is it going to increase further? Maybe you should still cap it at $50 but get more low spend clientele by offering it @ 15%

        • Hey eskylidder,

We'd definitely love to but we can't :(

  • Good on you shopback. Been with cashrewards many years, but from my experience, Cashrewards not as good as before.

  • 12% or 12.5% ???

    • match Cash rewards

  • +1

You haven't really matched Cashrewards as their max is $100 cash back, just saying.

  • 13% and you have a deal!!

  • I literally just checked out with the 10% right before this happened.

  • +1

Begun, the cash back war has.

  • -3

15% an i will jump ship to shopback~!!

  • does anyone know how long it takes for it to show on ShopBack tracking? I am a first timer… (I made sure I went through the shopback portal before adding items)

    • Hey Andysjunks,

Welcome! This depends on the store, some are quick and can take just a few hours, however for Amazon it would take a few days (maximum 4).

  • +7

Why on Earth does Amazon agree to pay Cashrewards a 15% cash commission (12.5% + Cashrewards’ own profit margin) instead of passing full 15% discount to the buyers within the promotional period? When Cashrewards makes profit from each commission, it’s a profit made from thin air and so is paid from the price mark-up - it is the buyer who ends up paying for this mark-up.

    • It doesn't set a pricing precedent for Amazon

    • +1

I guess promos like this force people to buy things, perception of saving more, say if Amazon did manually change the price, it wouldn't have the same impact. People would buy more to get more of a discount.

    • +1

The simple answer is they don't. Cashrewards and Shopback bring these high cashback rates at a loss for OzBargain and their customers. The loss is made up elsewhere.

    • I would rather the 15% off now and not in 3 months. good point.

  • is there a limit for Cashrewards or its $50?

  • Will this cashback work for Super Smash on Switch?

This item will be released on December 6, 2018.
    Pre-order now.
Ships from and sold by Amazon AU. Gift-wrap available.

    • Hi cyrax83,

If it is shipped within 60 days of purchase then yes it will work.

  • +1

Waiting for a Nintendo Switch deal to be posted so I can then read how people complain about cash back etc doesn't count.

  • +1

the annoying thing about cashbacks as they take 3 months to actually go into your account. and in drips and drabs.

    • As opposed to waiting a few months and $0 coming back?

It's a small inconvenience to a beneficial offering that we haven't had in the past. If it takes a few months, I'm sure folks can survive.

      • +1

yeah i'm not sure where he was going with that one…

        • Money now is worth more than money later probably…

  • Damn, just made a purchase last night!

  • +1

Hey shopback, I assume you mean midnight Sydney time? Any chance that these one day promos can go to 2am given midnight is only 9pm WA time during daylight savings on the east coast?

    • Hey No,

Yes all offers end based on Sydney (now AEDT) time. As for extending it in future, we might consider :)

      • +1

Please do consider. I was doing a few things with a "gotta make sure I do that Amazon order before midnight" in the back of my head.

        Annnnd it's already expired.

  • Just a side Q: is there anything even remotely cheap on Amazon? Most thing's ive looked at are expensive as hell.

    • +1

switch games seem to be cheapest on amazon au for most games i've checked

    • +2

There are usually cheap deals on anti-perspirent and toilet paper and other personal care items.

  • -5

MAX $50 WTF!!!! I just spent $925 on your shocking website, so I got burned hey?

    • That's a real bummer. CR are capped at $100.

      • -1

Ooops! I haven't heard of shop back before. So cash rewards will be OK for the $100. Thanks for pointing that out

p.s. by shocking website i mean amazon. but sounds like it isn't that bad afterall (still ebay seems to be the king)

  • Missed the cashback. Anymore coming? I have a lot of things to purchase in the list.

    • Hi ozlab,

We don't have plans yet but keep your eyes peeled!

  • Bought a few things from Amazon last night, clicked through ShopBack, did everything I was supposed to do to track. But i checked my account today and it seems like there’s no record of my tracking. Usually I’d get an email or notification from ShopBack already. Bought other things from Groupon and AliExpress after this transaction and they tracked ok.

    • Hi Mamajo,

Thanks for shopping through ShopBack :)

As above, tracking speeds vary by stores and Amazon will take a few days to come up into your account.

      • Ok. Thanks for your response. I’ll wait a few days.

      • Got my tracking transaction today. Thanks!
