warning: at least 1 year old version of this repeater requires internet to work. If your wifi network requires login for every client, this is useless.

  • I bought one a year back, couldn't trust it though…
It did force me to log into and link my Mi account, so I can only assume that gives them access to my WiFi Network…

yes, you need to use the Mi Home app to configure it.

Yes, there's nothing suspicious going on. The app is used to configure it and apply firmware updates, when they are released.

  • Have not received my order from 3 months ago yet!~!

  • I bought one a few weeks back.

    It works well.

I don't like the fact I had to register with Mihome.

I couldn't get it to accept the name change to my router, so you have to select the repeater when you move away from the base station. It's annoying.

Within the Mi Home app, is the option for it to use the same SSID as your router, instead of appending _Plus to the end of it.

      • the option is there but it doesn't work (for me).
Nb: I have a Xiomi Redmi phone but a cheap and nasty Huwai modem/router - maybe that's the issue.

        • It shouldn't matter what router you are using. The SSID of the Xiaomi repeater is all that changes, nothing get changed on your router.

  • Harvey Norman Tax???

I bought one of these on ebay. I didn't need to register with mihome. Just plugged it into my mi router and it configured itself and then i moved it to another area of my house. works perfect went from 2 bars and 200 ms ping to 5 bars and 15 ms.

  • That's awesome

  • Doesn’t this depend on your router’s wifi chipset?

Think it’s no good for Broadcom devices

  • Thanks OP bought.

  • Cheap but good luck with the delivery waiting time. Still waiting on a different product order for 2 months.

    • For the most part, it takes me three weeks, give or take a day or two to receive items from Zapals. However, there are few items which are taking longer.

  • Cheaper today. $6.39 AUD. Add GST. = $7.03
