  • Thanks! This is a great one :)

  • +1

is this in store, the link doesn't go to the offer with T&C.

  • Thanks!, missed the last one 2 weeks ago though I would have to wait a while for another.

  • Anyone know how I could add prescription lenses to these?

    • +1

Take them to an OPSM store, if the sunglasses are suitable they will send them off to have lenses cut for them for you. Takes just over a week to do.

      • Second that, I literally just asked OPSM store & they're all good to accept Sunglass Hut pairs to add prescriptions. Just watch out for a "non-OPSM" charge they add if you are bringing the glasses in.

        • Also, Sunglasses Hut and OPSM are owned by the same company, Luxottica Group, recently I'd been after a specific pair of Ray-Ban's with a prescription, OPSM said that if they did not stock the frames I wanted and Sunglasses Hut did OPSM would be able to source them directly from Sunglasses Hut. (No discounts were offered and they would be at full retail price)

p.s. Luxottica Group also own Ray-Ban, Persol, and Oakley sunglasses brands to name but a few, hence the heavy discount they are offering in this deal because the brands are their own….

          • @oz-stef: Ha this is why my OPSM guy was recommending Sunglass Hat so much…makes sense now thanks!

If your health insurance covers optical, you're often better off just getting the sunglasses through a prescription glasses store. They'll guarantee they can be converted, and you can claim back a big chunk of the cost via your insurance.

I usually alternate between getting sunglasses and standard glasses every other year. With my coverage, there's only a small out-of-pocket expense either way.

      • I remember someone telling me this a while ago - how would I go about asking for this? Cheers

        • Just go to OPSM, specsavers, etc and ask for a quote for prescription sunglasses, subsidised via insurance. They will run your private health insurance card through the system and give you the gap amount.

Pro-tip, do not use PayPal unless you are absolutely certain which model you wish to purchase. Refunding is very easy with SH and PayPal, but if you want to exchange in store after using PayPal, the price of the exchange product has to match the item you purchased exactly. Whereas with CC, there's no issue with price differences.

    Edit: thanks for the deal.

      Thanks for the tip.

  • Finally! Been waiting for this. Thanks OP

    Here's the T&Cs: https://imgur.com/a/2bXW2lU

The error code comes up if Ur on the US site, which the link goes to. Need to change to AU site to use codes. Thanks OP

  • +2

Don't buy the ones with 50% off as you'll end up with a monical.

  • Perfect timing thank you OP, saved almost $60. Getting prescription lenses put in as well at OPSM which has 20% off.

  • Anyone use polarised? Worth the extra?

    • +10

For driving purposes, I only ever wear polarised lenses, reduces road glare and is a much nicer driving experience.

    • +1

cuts out the slight reflection from your windscreen off your dashboard. Also reflections off road surfaces

    • Always for fishing if the sun is up.

    • Only negative is that if you have a heads up display (HUD), it disappears!

Seriously, it’s recently become something of a potential problem

  • Cool. Thanks.

Velocity Estore is back online don’t forget to click via.

  • Doesn't seem to work on anything already discounted?

    • Full price is mentioned in both title and description

      • Doh right you are.

  • everyone keeps talking up polarised.
are there any advantages for non polarised?

    • Sometimes your electronics (phone /car nav system) have polarised screens - can cause issues looking at screens.

      • +2

Can confirm this. I had polarised sunnies and could see my phone in portrait mode fine, however landscape mode looked like the screen was off. It too a few restarts to realise it was actually my sunnies.

    • Cant read screens etc with polarized on

    • Is it possible to add polarise lenses. The sunnies I want don't have it polarised. A different color of the same model has it though =(

  • Been looking at buying my first set of ray bans and I have a pretty smallish head, I saw under the sizes there was 47 for wayfarer but there doesn't appear to be any available?
Also if anyone else has a smallish male sized head how do the 50mm go?

    • Try them on instore to be safe, any surf shop or Myer etc. should stock them if you aren't near a sunglass hut.

FYI the 47 is talking about lens size so it matters on your face shape, no necessarily the size..

FWIW I have a fairly small head and wear 50mm round metals, pretty sure 50 in clubmasters too.

  • Promotion code invalid! Am I doing sth wrong ?

    • +1

The promo code only works with full price sunglasses. You probably added sunnies that have been discounted to your cart.

  • +1

A couple of promos ago there was a cheeky hack where you could add a cloth and spray thing and get the 40% off both that and the sunnies but I cant see anything under $59.95 this time to sub in.

Hi, you can have prescription lenses inserted in your sunglasses or frames at Optically.com.au. Just go the Reglaze section and send your sunglasses or frames to our address there. Alternatively, you can visit the Optically eyewear studio in Bondi, Sydney and select your sunglasses or drop your glasses for new lenses there. It’s real good value since you are dealing with an optical lab directly.
    Thanks

  • Wait for 50% I say! We do Luxottica stuff & they often go 50%

    • +3

Who’s we? And why have you not shared such excellent information ?

  • Shame no alternate fit.

  • Posted from China?

  • Anyone else wanting to only get 1 pair in Sydney?

  • The discount code works on Snow goggles too! Too bad I already bought a new pair, but 30% off is a great price :)

  • +1

My wife wento into a sunglass hut and they applied the discount in store. The sales person needed to call the boss for approval.

    RB2132 for $178.50… RRP $255

  • is it possible to purchase a pair of sunglasses and change the darkness of the lens? interested in a pair of polarised sunnies but scared it'll damage.

  • Amazing deal. Saved nearly $300 on two pairs of sunnies. Just in time for summer.

  • Looks like they pulled the latest Oakley sport models Field jacket Flight jacket Jawbreakers off the site…. :(

  • Is it normal that the online order is posted from China? Just made my 1st order and the shipping information was from China.

  • Would cashrewards apply to this, given there's a code we have to use?

  • Does not work for me.
    Says
    FP3
Success! Your promo code has been applied.

    But price of
    Oakley
    009357 HOLDOUT
    Frame: Clear/White
    Lenses: Green

    stays the same ($194.00)

    • Has the pair you're trying to purchase already been discounted? If that's the case then it won't work as this applies only to full priced glasses.

      • There is no indication on their Web site on any discounts applied to these sunglasses.

        • Are you talking about these? https://www.sunglasshut.com/au/888392253002 They're showing $264.95 for me.

Looks like they've changed the prices or something.

            • @Foma2: Yeah, I see what you mean: https://imgur.com/a/g7tQrK8

Have no idea why it isn't working for you as Oakley isn't one of the excluded brands. Right after I've left that previous comment I've placed an order for a pair of Oakley Frogskin Lite and it has worked with no issue at all (even Cashrewards has tracked it).

PS: I have seen a few comments of people saying they managed to use the code in stores, so download the promo pic on your phone https://imgur.com/a/ntub6GJ and take it to your nearest store. Give it a go, as you have nothing to lose if it doesn't work. There's a good chance that they might accept it in a store.

  • I went to DFO @SouthWarf today and got the discount in the store. Happy customer :)
    RB8313
