I think he is implying that you can do the same with the many online YouTube video rippers which are free.

          • +9

@NebulAe: It's called historical preservation of lolcats videos.

Hi I was trying to download a sample 8K video and no online youtube downloaders gave me an option to download the 8K video :(

Many allow till 4K, but beyond that you have to use the pro version.

Sample website : www dot videograbber dot net

    Or you could use youtube-dl.

  • +1

Waiting for an OZBNer to post a link to do it for free…

      • youtube-dl a command line tool that works on almost every device and supports over 1100 sites as well as YouTube.

      • Or alternatively if you prefer an easy interface youtube-dlg the same tool as above but with a nice easy to use user-interface.

      • Or literally just Google "Youtube downloader" and you'll find plenty of free YouTube Downloaders that actually work.

  • +2

A lot of rippers can and do struggle with the latest 4k files
So I have to use multiple depending on who has updated the program

Some of these programs are well worth it for some features such as ripping an entire channel or playlist

Just use a browser plugin to download it for free. Even 4k videos. Never had any issues.

Do not waste money on the sh*tware being sold in this post.

  • tubemate works fine on android platforms if someone’s interested. Doing the job well

    • Who cares about a stupid terms of service.

      • the people who are creative enough to create something.

        • +1

The creative people have no benefit from the Youtube terms of service.

The only thing it benefits is Youtube.

That's hilarious coming from the company that ignored IP rights for many years.

Ignoring meaning actively discussing how they had to violate IP rights, specifically those for the music industry, in order to succeed and they weren't going to follow the law because that would mean losing profits.

8k video? Apart from pointless demos are there any worthwhile? Most of the 4K stuff is pointless.

    • +1

Absolutely, most pc and phone only does 1080p.

    • There are some 4K content if you know what I mean ;)

      • :-) that's YouLube. I get them confused too

    • +1

Agree this is the best and safest option.

  • Many free (and likely better) alternatives out there.

  • jdownloader is much better and it's free

  • NewPipe.
Free, with an active community support.

    Plays YouTube screen off.
    And can
Download the videos or just the audio part in various formats.

    youtube-dl is best, & free

  • Negged, because chrome and Firefox both have add-ons that do this - both easier and free.

  • As mentioned by others, can be done for free. Happy to neg this so others aren't convinced to buy.

  • That can't be legal. Youtube charges to download from their site. If you're not paying Youtube with a Red subscription you may as well use a free alternative.

  • Need one for PH.. that one I might buy if it can do premium content
