Yeah I was tossing up between the two Lavazza machines, never know when I'll need a milk frother, decided on the cheaper of the two, if its a mistake then I guess I'll find out in time.

  • Ordered one. $39 with the referral as well as shipster trial.

  • Lavazza A Modo Mio Deciso capsules
Deciso style are no longer stocked - replaced by DELIZIOSO in stores. So check if in best by date (about 2 years of packing) as flavour declines with age.

The machine only takes Lavazza A Modo Mio style of capsules - consider before buying as you're locked into their capsules!

16 Capsules cost around $11 at Coles, Woolies, OW, etc, but as low as $7 @Coles on sale. Not stocked in all stores. Better tasting ones in the range cost around $13.

I've used 3 different $99RRP Lavazza A Modo Mio machines, costing $6, $9 & others (after Lavazza Cashback) around $15 profit😀 All still working great.

Lavazza once send out 2 free x 16 packs of capsules when purchased a machine. Order system stuffed up & they kept coming (30 x 16 pods!)

Milk Frother - got one from Lavazza a few years back - POS! Hope it's improved.

  • the website does not feature the Magia
    https://www.lavazza.com.au/en_AU.html

wondering if it is a discontinued model

don't need another coffee machine, but will buy if the frother is decent
at the office we have this
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lavazza-minu-caffe-latte-coffee…

the milk frother is decent and is very easy to clean (unlike the aldi one I have)

    • From past searches, Lavazza site only has latest models. Even stock in major stores may not be shown.

      It's Kogan - it's discontinued model!
But never had a problem with those bought from stores.

Capsules aren't listed either as were discontinued a while back!

The milk frother (bought a few years ago direct from Lavazza) failed within days. Lavazza sent replacement lid/motor. Sold it. I just use a cheap coffee plunger if want frothed milk (heated in microwave).

      • I just use a cheap coffee plunger if want frothed milk (heated in microwave).

actually need a frother to make a good chai latte
can I froth milk with a coffee plunger?
if yes then I don't need to spend on this deal

        • Have been doing it for years. Saw a YouTube - heat small amount of milk in glass coffee plunger (with no metal) in microwave - doesn't take long. (Otherwise heat milk in mug & pour into plunger.) Remove. Add plunger. Plunge up & down to introduce air. Pour. Enjoy☕

Worth a try. Improves with experience.

          • @INFIDEL: How long does it take to suitably froth milk with this method?

I thought the whole point of machines was to simplify things. If this method takes five minutes it would be easier with a milk frother wouldn't it? If it is like 30 seconds of plunging- different story

Same with an electric coffee grinder vs a manual pestle and mortar perhaps

            • @docians: About 2 minutes total, heating & plunging. I liked the froth better than from Lavazza frother I bought. You can see & control the outcome. So sold the almost new Lavazza one - 2 years back.

As I said - give it a try. That way you'll know if it suits you.

Slightly upgraded coffee plungers are sold for this purpose for $30-40 (saw last week for $18) https://www.robinskitchen.com.au/baccarat-venice-milk-frothe…
Only difference is a fill line mark for milk & slightly different gauze in plunger.
But as I had a few free plungers already…
