Would this be classed as an upgrade compared to my Canon 550D with Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens?
https://www.apotelyt.com/compare-camera/canon-550d-vs-canon-…
From this…Yes.
You'll find that EOS-M series has surprisingly fast and clear viewfinders/screens; so what you see on screen is what your photo will be.
You can find a EF-S to EF-M adapter to use the Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens. This will also allow you to use the EF-S series.
Best other I could find was $814.00 + Shipping
Tempting.
Advice/opinion, please:
Is it better $646.28 + 2000 QP or $484.71 + 27400 QP?Thanks
QP is worth about 1 cent a point so the 2000QP option is better.
Noted, thanks
Dead system
Na. Selling like hotcakes in many places, especially Japan. Canon won't be in any hurry to replace it while the money is flowing in.
Canon are releasing a new mirror less system, I doubt ef-m lenses will survive for too long
Yeah I know about the R, but the RF mount is larger and further from the sensor, and for the time being the R lenses are much more expensive than the M series lenses. They're targeting opposite ends of the market, and while I'm sure lower-priced and entry-level R-series equipment will eventually come along, it'll never be as compact as the M bodies and lenses, which is its niche.
And because the R and M bodies and lenses have a lot more in common with each other than do M and EF lines, technology can be shared across both, meaning development costs could be less for future M gear.
Basically the same quality as the 80d but in video. Great for family stuff or a small camera for travel. This guy breaks it down well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUy2hnTOnSgI have a 70d from years now and I’m just really tempted to buy these mirrorless cams as they are smaller. Is this one worth it?
I don't find that size is a huge concern to me. Sure they're smaller, but they're still too big to put into a pocket. By the time you put a decent lens onto a camera it's not going to be small. If you want small size then get a decent P&S (IMO).
Similar boat, got an old 600d and considering getting this
Got an old Panasonic lx5 but prefer the dslr more
Is this better than 5d mk3?
Brilliant camera. Bought one for the wife and she loves it. Very capable with excellent picture quality. Minimal buttons and dials but beautiful canon menu and touch screen. Only negative is no USB charging.
Ef-m is a perfectly fine amateur system. If it doesn’t have what you want you are a pro, gearhead or want Porsche performance out of a Toyota.
Could agree more, but I still agree.
Problem with owning a Porsche is it still doesn't give you permit to go faster than 40, 60 70 or 110Kph in Aus.
But with this camera, if you have the skills you can take as a good a shot as most 'pro' photographers!
Anyone know if I can claimed back GST on it if I travel overseas?
Yes you can.
I was hoping to hold off until my planned trip OS in the new year unfortunately this deal ends today, therefore not within 60 days of departure.
Thanks OP, last day on this offer.
I bit the bullet and bought one, lucky my brother had some Qantas FF points as I had misread and thought you buy it for $646.28 and earn 2000 FFpoints. Nope it's 2000FF points + $646.28.
Great camera for the price. I actually saw it on the weekend, compared to the M5 which is $1200.00, no brainer at this price, normal price $895.00. I do like the brushed metal finish of the M5 but again, not for another almost $600.00!
Cheers!
Now to find a good deal on a SD card and bag.
You can also get the RX100 M6 for $1342.81 + 2000 points. https://www.qantasstore.com.au/p/sony-dscrx100m6-rx100-vi-pr…
