That's funny coz it actually says "Surf" in the product description…
Hmm. AFAIK 4G Surf is not really distributed in Australia, moreover it does not have the webcam and a smaller battery. Gallaxy black is available on both Surf and 701 4G though. Maybe we shall still wait for the response from ShoppingSquare.
SS does have a shop front in Kingsford, Sydney but I think their in-store price is higher than online price and not sure whether you can pick up.

At the store price of $433, it is tempting to get my local JB (Hi Iain!) to do a deal. :)
I highly recommend JB at Hornsby, especially on a 10% off week.
Even that price will not be as low as this SS price, so who is going to bite?
I am really tempted by this was going to try a price match at Harvey Normans, does anyone no if they will honor this? 110% off the difference saving another $10.

$398 is actually lower than retail price in both Taiwan (where Eee was designed) and China (where Eee was manufactured) but $49 delivery is indeed quite expensive. Let's see whether JB or HN is willing to do a price match.
I've not found a HN that will willingly beat a price by 10%.
If you can get the sales person/manager to phone Apus re. their $433 price, then that's a great starting point.

Yeah same thing. It is retailed for $499 and ShoppingSquare is probably the first one to bring it down to $399 last month with this special. Now we are just seeing more and more retailers doing so.
It has a webcam so it is 701 4G with a SO-DIMM slot and you can upgrade it to 1GB. Funny that the white version is still at $433.95 and only the black one gets discounted.
