    It's not a bad laptop.

    • +7

No keyboard, slow processor, limited/slow storage, no HDMI out and only 1 USB port.
      It's a terrible laptop!

      • +1

Sorry, I was confused because the phone it's just so big!

        • That’s what she said

    • +5

It's very powerful and raises the idea that Samsung should create a mid range cost effective phone series for people who can't justify spending such high amounts of money on a powerful phone they'll never utilise the hardware of.
If Samsung were to equal the hardware of the best iPhone along with the easily beaten better battery capacity, SD expansion slot and superior functionality software many people would snap these up at around $500 new. Or they could just keep making the S7 edge and maybe rejig the housing to slim down the bezzles as that's still a decent phone and better than any iPhone available.

Too bad 845 is no where close to a12

  • +3

Cheapest price it has been so far.

Not the cheapest price it has been so far.

    • Hmm I was close. 😀

      • -7

Yeah so close, how about amending the false and misleading title to reflect the cheapest price almost a month ago?

        • It's off by $14 out of ~$1150 that's eff all…

  • +2

Worth going for the Snapdragon variant if you can find it, Exynos this year isnt the greatest on battery life.

    • I've got no direct comparison, buy my Exynos is great on battery life. Apparently, it was made better in one of the security updates.

      • Plenty of YouTube videos and an indepth article on Anandtech on Exynos 9810 v SnapDragon 845. Snapdragon is also faster in day to day tasks due to the way Samsung tuned the CPU scheduler even though it clocks higher in Geekbench.

        • Are those videos current? Because Updates can improve things.

    • Not worth it if you plan on using Samsung Pay.

    $75 delivery
absolutely abhorrent business practices here, aimed solely at getting to the top of the google shopping search results.

  • +15

Becextech are pretty scummy as a business, I would go with someone else.

    • +4

The main point is that you do the pricematch with Officeworks for better price + warranty

      • Rang Officeworks in my suburb yesterday, they were adamant, they do not pricematch grey import.

        • That's strange, they have updated their policy of pricematch which includes grey import, see it here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/399699

People said that they easily get pricematch on phone 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423) rather than at the branch. When they accept to pricematch, you could indicate the branch to pickup.

    • +2

Agreed. They sold my friend a used phone once. It even came with free selfies in the gallery :)
      Really cheap though.

      • +1

they sold me a "new" Canon 5d M2 which looked like it had fallen off a cliff and +55k shutter count, someone was making sure the camera's shutter won't fail.

    • Yup. Couldn't get proper post-purchase support until I publicised my complaints.
Aboslute pain in the ass to deal with.

    • Yeah, I suggest you price match. I just picked it up (click & collect) and couldn't be happier!

  • +1

$1172.99 Delivered @ Think of Us inc GST? $1,114.34 after OW price match.

    • +2

+ Price match at OW brings it down even more wow

      • +6

MyMobile is also $1146 Delivered including GST for Copper and Purple, $1,088.70 after OW PM.

        • -7

          good detective works…

        • +2

Both Think of us and Mymobile have different model i.e. (N960FD) so declined for pricematch.

  • +2

+1 for the pricematch @officeworks. Took them a while but they conceded. Wouldn't buy for 75$ delivery from the actual store!

    • +1

That way you get an Australian flash model

    • +1

Which model did you pricematch? Seems the blue is out of stock so don't think the price match would work on that

      • I price matched the midnight Black.

Blue is sold out at OW across NSW

  • Price match denied at Officeworks Hobart

    • +1

      Any reason given for why?

      • +3

"Becex is on my list for do not price match"

        "… ok."

        • I did it over the phone. 1300 OFFICE

I can provide you with the invoice to prove it to them. Let me know

    • +1

Try the price match over the phone and not directly with the store. Has always been easier when I do it that way.

      • Yeah, I did that. Oh well.

      • How does it work? You called and asked for price matching then came and pick up in person?

        • +1

That's pretty much it. They check the price match/beat, check stock levels and take payment. Then you wait for a click and collect message to pick it up.

    • Same here in Perth, pricematch denied.

      • Bluering, I just called the main 1300 OFFICE number and had the 128gb Blue model price matched from BecexTech. Total after 5% discount $1101.05! Picking up from the Osborne Park store on Tuesday.

        • How did you get the price down to 1101 please?

  • My brother got this for $59 per month with optus + 25GB plan 24 months.. NOT a lease.. outright price.

    • +7

      Care to share then?

      • +2

        I think he meant $95 and not $59 :)

        • it was $59 plan in first days when just lease.

    • -3

My cousins aunt got it for $15 a month with Telstra + 50GB plan 12 months.. Not a lease..

  • How strict are they with model numbers for price match? Slightly off topic but I'm looking at a S8. Cheapest I can find from a .com.au url are $629 and $634, but the model number is G950FD, whereas Officeworks stocks the AU model G950F

    • Seems hit and miss between stores.

    • Yep, definitely hit and miss. The Note 9 that Officeworks stocks is the single SIM model, and this post is for the dual SIM model. Different model numbers, but some are still getting it price matched.

      • Official response from company on model number :

        Hello Peannut

        Thank you for your email.

Our stock is bought in bulk from our supplier, and it will be provided in random, hence we do not detailed the model number.

        Hope this clarify.

        Thank you.

        Best Regards,
        Ryan
        BecexTech Australia Support Team

        • They advertise it as being the dual SIM, so I don't think that email response will hold much weight from a price matching perspective. It's clearly advertised as the dual SIM variant.

That response is pretty ordinary, as someone who wants and orders a dual SIM variant may well end up with a single SIM model.

      • +2

The note 9 i got from Officeworks is definitely dual sim

        • Yes it is dual sim, so they should honour the price as stated as it is the same model??

          • @toast: They did for me. I paid about 1050 i think. I can upload a copy of receipt later. I called headoffice thru my corporate account and they organised delivery to our local store.

            • @Jonski: how did you get it down to 1050 please?

  • +1

after seeing iphone xs max, this is dirt cheap.

    • you forget the iphone has apple logo at the back that worth $1000

  • $1399 128GB in Costco

  • I'm surprised that Becextech isn't already banned from Ozbargain. Borderline slow shoddy service.

    • agree. should have must have

  • I wouldn't touch this company with a 10ft pole.

Do people have amnesia when it comes to upvotes/price and this company ?

    • +1

Devil is in the detail. Buy from OFFICEWORKS with 5% off the terrible company price.

      • So office works match different models now if yours is a grey import :S

  • +1

Holy yikes. Whats going on with that $75 shipping fee

  • The things you could buy with $1,150 that aren't this phone… my god.

    • Smashed avos for brunch

      • For a year

  • does anybody know if it is possible to pay with officeworks gift cards on this price match deal? that's another 5% off.

  • +2

+1 for Ow price match. Got the 128gb black version for $1080.50. Will also be claiming gst via trs next month. Thanks OP, this is a good price. OW got my order ready for click and collect in 2 hours at the local store. Impressed with the fast turn around time.

    • How did you get this price?

      • They just did it over the phone after I told them about the Becextech price.

    • -1

Hope you are travelling with someone else then

      • I'm not travelling, if you Really want to know :/

    • Hi OP
Any chance you can upload a copy of receipt from officeworks or invoice number as i want to get price match but officeworks want to see part number so they rejected.

      • Call the main number. Not the individual store

  • Just got one!

Called the "1300 OFFICE" number and within 10 minutes had it all sorted, no trouble at all. Total was $1139.

  • managed to pricematch with OW for $1068 over the phone. the lady forgot to add the delivery fee from bexetech as i kept her busy with silly questions.. good luck guys

  • I got the pricematch - but i had to argue for it. The OW staff have now received a memo to say that they do not price match this item because it is imported. My response was, it doesn't say that on the PBG page and I feel discriminated against.

  • I was told by OW that they'll only match the same model/part number and that these ones are N960FD & not N960FZ.. :(
