Amazon has a selection of BD and DVDs on sale, with the pick of the bunch (for me) being the Fast and Furious 1-8 box set for $24. Currently sells for $79.95 at JB (so at least around $60 even during 20% off + their 5% discount and discounted gift cards). Cheapest online retailer I can find still sells if for substantially more e.g. $49.99+ shipping at Zavvi

This is a good price OP. I did notice however that the movies are available individually for significantly more though the header band on the case states 4k - is this set 4k? I don't know enough about Blu-ray as I don't own any myself.

    • I don't think it is 4k. 4k usually gets a black box - that's how I tell :D

    • +1

This set is not 4k, it is just a standard full HD Blu-Ray.

      • +1

Yeah I thought so, might be a consideration for some that are into 4k and have the setup to take advantage of it. What is standard res for Blu-ray? 1080p?

        • Yep, 1080p is the standard bluray resolution.

        • Blu-Ray can be either 720p or 1080p but 1080p (Full HD) is more common today.

    • The Disc that come with this is only Full HD(1080p), the banner regarding 4K is related to "ultra violet" and online streaming service. You will get a code in the box for you to register online that you own the box set and will be able to watch the movies in 4K via this streaming service.

  • Wow that's cheap

    $3 per blu ray!

    Going to sign up prime

Doesn't matter if you like 1 movie or all 8,a bargain's a bargain.

    • Yep, I like a few of these movies so I bought it.

Fantastic deal, hope it's the same box as the Zavvi link!

  • +1

It seems to be expired, $80 now.

    • Is it a price error, gone so quick.

    • +1

Not expired, just sold out and deferred to next third party seller.

      • It was saying "Only 2 left" and the price went back to full price. They've probably changed the price when OzBargainers stormed the deal, me thinks.

        • It was $24 sold and dispatched by Amazon.

Now they sold out, it's $79.34 ships from and sold by The Nile Australia.

Amazon didn't change price, they sold out at their price and goes to next cheapest third party seller.

        • @Hybroid: Aha! I stand corrected then. I thought it was the same seller.

      • The deal is expired though as its no longer available

        • Yeah, when go to Amazon, Shop by Department, Movies can still see the $24 deal there but click in back to higher price.

    • you weren't fast or furious enough ;)

  • Not available

  • Yup. Gone already.

  • +1

Meh. 4K or nothing. No more blu-rays.

    • No more blu-rays.

Blu-Rays are the current medium for 4K. Where else are you sourcing them from? Netflix Ultra HD isn't full 4K quality like Blu-Ray.

      • +2

Prob meaning no standard res blurays.

    • +1

I think a lot of us haven't upgraded to 4k tvs yet and don't see the need for 4k blu rays as of yet.
Hell, I don't intend to upgrade until my 7 year old sony tv dies.

      • It's all a matter of preference. 4K TVs are a huge difference and step up if you enjoy high-def movies, streaming and have a PS4 Pro etc. It's not just the resolution but the quality processing and HDR that are a big leap forward visually. If you just watch terrestrial TV, news and my kitchen rules then probably no use to you.

    Damn…. That was quick

Good deal - this gives you a full set of drink coasters, individually encased.

    • Seems someone here isn't a fan of drink coasters - fair enough I suppose, but not every beverage fits into a stubby holder.

  • $3 a movie, sounds about right.

  • Too soon junior

  • +3

Just a few that caught my eye:
Boyhood (Bluray) $4.75: probably one of the best coming of age films I've seen (others disagree though)
The Revenant (Bluray) $5: visual masterpiece. May be worthwhile to grab a 4k copy instead, however.
The Godfather Trilogy (Bluray) $16: not much needs to be said about this.

    • Whiplash & War (planets of the Apes) & Mr Bean (complete) are also great price.

    • Funny (not too funny) have all three movies and paid 5 times these amounts =(

    • Amazon is making offers ozbargainers cannot refuse

  • Paul Walker was a genius.

    X-MEN - THE CEREBRO COLLECTION BD $18.06

  • I wasn't quick enough to buy this deal and now I'm angry. Fast & Furious? More like Slow & Furious.

    • +1

      I'm slow and mildly curious

Totally lashed out and ordered SMURFS THE LOST VILLAGE on Blu Ray for $4.00.

    • Saw Geostorm the other day - for $5 IMO you're still wasting your money.
