I don't think you can stack with the dual charger offer via Samsung Pay. I tried putting the charger in the cart together with the watch and it was not discounted.

  • Damn! Almost $500 from what i gather there isn't much difference between this model and the s3?

    • The longer battery life is the biggest difference. JimsReviewRoom got 4-6 days of actual use, presumably without the always-on screen activated. Another reviewer said turning on the always-on screen shortened battery life by a day.

It's probably not worth upgrading from the S3 unless the longer battery life or LTE is desired.

      • Can't understand why would anyone consider 4-6 days when you can have 30 days with always on display.. for 20% of this price.

        • With how many % of the features?

        • @eug: fair call, 4g gives a bit of functions, does it work in Australia?

        • @Den: Yup, otherwise they wouldn't sell it here. On Telstra I believe it's an extra $5/month. Not sure about the other networks.

          • @eug: About the same across the board.

Phones: initially we wanted them to be as small as possible (nokia 8210 etc), now we want them to be bigger (note launch appears to be selling better than the S9).

Now you can have a completely independent watch that has access to the internet completely independent of your gigantic mobile phone.

Without having one yet (only have a couple fitbits), I think this is fantastic. I just need the battery life to be a little longer, however I will probably jump on one of these eventually. I have been waiting for Australia to mainstream e-Sim watches and dual sim phones for years.

  • Not with that price.

  • HAHAHA. Tell Samsung he's dreamin'

  • I can't find Galaxy Watch 42mm on the store?

    • Click on the black one, it's 42mm and costs $399 for the wifi model.

  • Cheaper than the Gear S3 when it came out. That's good!

  • +3

Guys if you have S3 already, don’t do it.

    • What are your thoughts on the watch given it now has e-sim?

      • If you can justify e_sim for $480 by all mean go for it :)

  • Hi

Not getting much info for iOS connectivity.
Is new model same as gear 3 which have limited options for iPhone
    Any idea?

  • I havent owned a smartwatch before, however find myself having a 'need'. But really only if the watch has e-sim support.

What is everyone's thoughts on the watch given it now has e-sim support? Should I be waiting til the Google launch etc?

Also - is the 20% off avail for 4G 46mm?

    • Regarding sim in watch. Think of this, what is the chance you go out without your phone with you.

      • Totally agree! My use case however is I ride MTB, and prefer not to ride with a backpack (DH/gravity style riding).

Having a phone in my pocket is always a nuisance.. but not having a phone on me isn't wise (in case of emergency). So yeah, worth it for myself I guess.

        • +1

Then in your case, ride without phone in pocket and backpack, e-sim watch is a good investment for you.
