all year round in Brisbane
That, and all the buffet places would have me obese!
Start lifting
Why isn't Brisbane all Australia then? Bullsh!t.
we also have hot and spicy all year round too.
@ruddiger7: Dont start with me
Give it time. Pretty sure inner city Melbourne is made up almost completely of SA/WA/QLD transplants.
All QLD stores are owned by a seperate entity so they can do what they please
Except we had to pay 1 buck extra :(
all year round in QLD
Would never get posted on OzBargain.
Ah yes, my monthly "Looks like meat's back on the menu boys" time
Won't and can't miss this deal thanks OP.
Its all year around in Darwin.
Where is Darwin, again?
No idea.
Indonesia.
its where ya fresh produce comes from ya ungrateful bastards!
and crocodile skins
Woop Darwin represent, also get hot and spicy
Haha.
Quicker to go Queenstown than Darwin.
how long is the promotion this time
we've waited so long
exactly, dinner sorted then!
to be exact, dinners (with s) sorted
Gold Coast has cheap tuesdays all year long same with Hot n Spicy.
While Sydney has hot n spicy during seasonal periods. Anyone know why???
I believe because QLD KFC is owned by a different business?
Yes that what I learned on ozbargain
Collins Foods own all the QLD franchises and quite a few others around the country. They also own Sizzler, but we don't talk about that :(
Who owns the KFC in NSW?
Pretty crappy for us how KFC has different standard and deals. I don't see Maccas having this issue
pros and cons of franchise independence
I would say most franchisees would be totally against Mcdonalds model of strict control… Fortunately for Mcdonalds history shows they support their franchises
The head office of other franchisers abuses the hell out of their control, as we're constantly seeing in the news
I asked the staff at the Sydney MYERS Food Court branch once a couple of years ago. He said that in NSW, only the Sydney Town Hall branch and another branch in the CBD stock the Hot n Spicy ones year long. Different owner.
(profanity) HYPE
Why?
Really? This is the most amount of chicken to dollar you can get anywhere.
Lol the supermarket begs to differ
Where can I buy KFC chicken at the supermarket?
I cook the stuff all the time so I know 18 pieces is 2 chickens, so 9 pieces for 10$ is only $2 more than buying it from woolies, (excluding the cost of breading flour)
It just depends if you want roast or fried chicken, fried is always more expensive.
@Veno: depends if they stitch you up and give you only wings and legs
@apptrack: You can ask for no wings/legs technically, as long as they arent too busy and you arent rude they will typically say yes.
@Veno: most importantly, please share the KFC recipes.
even PM is appreciated.
@alexGoodwin: Ingredients:
Chicken parts of your choice
Celery salt
Dried Mustard
White pepper
Garlic salt
Paprika
Ground ginger
Basil
Salt
Thyme
Oregano
Black pepper
Instructions:
Prepare oil in a cast-iron pot to fry. In a bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, 1/3 tbsp of salt, 1 tbsp of black pepper, 1/2 tbsp of thyme, 1/2 tbsp of basil, 1/3 tbsp of oregano, 1 tbsp celery salt, 1 tbsp of dried mustard, 4 tbsp of paprika, 1 tbsp of garlic salt, 1 tbsp of ground ginger, and 1 tbsp of white pepper.
In a separate bowl, add milk and an egg and beat. Mix your chicken into the bowl, and then coat the chicken in the flour & spice mix.
Finally, fry the chicken in the pot for 10 to 15 minutes. Let it cool and then serve.
@SlickMick: thank you.
@SlickMick: here's $10.00 … I'll have 9 please… keep the change… consider it a tip for the hour or more it took you…
@SlickMick: Doesn't KFC pressure fry though?
@alexGoodwin: For the low low price of 3 infinity stones it can be yours!
@Veno: I shall be called Thanos, from now on
@alexGoodwin: It's hidden even for the people that work there. All comes in pre mix with ingredients but not amounts.
@apptrack: I heard that the recipe got released some time back??
@SlickMick: Unofficially but they are still super secret about it. Pressure cooking the chicken is probably the leading edge they have.
most importantly, please share the KFC recipes
Sure, dip the chicken in milk and drain.
Roll in seasoned flour, then cook in a pressure oil fryer.
You can ask for no wings/legs technically
When I managed a store, it was set combinations only.
9 pieces is a whole chook, meaning 2 of everything and a breast.
@Veno: I thought you guys use pressure cookers tho to cook the chicken
@jonnois: The chicken doesnt come pre breaded
@jonnois: pressure cooker hot and spicy and normal for original.
Makes the skin pop
Yummy with rice and ketchup. Asian style 😀
Yeah they serve with rice in Indonesia I believe
Rice and KFC is like the best food combination on the planet.. add potato and gravy and God kill me now.
Might have to try that as a way to avoid filling up on chicken only and having none left for the next day.
Definitely.. chicken alone can be really salty so the rice kind of counters that somewhat.. but man KFC is like a once every few months kind of meal.. So good but you definitely feel it the next day when you wake up
@AlienC: without a counter, you eat too much… then regret it… for a month or so..
@AlienC: You feel it the next day but by the following week you should be ready to go again?
@Xastros: haha maybe. Give it two weeks just to be safe.. sometimes even a week feels too close.. It is more deadly than a night of pizza that is for sure.
@AlienC: The gap in time for when you eat junk food is a good indicator of your age
@AlienC: I suggest Jasmine tea while you eat it :)
I had that issue before I tried that. Best (worst?) thing ever :P
@cathyrrn: yeah usually some hot water does the trick.. feels so good but so worth it.
KFC in Indonesia is so cheap and delicious and so heavenly, I'm going there this Christmas and New Year's
Looking forward to gorging hahaha
Oh man lucky.. Indonesia land of the migoreng also.. lucky
This week's cholesterol sorted!
Year*
QLD must have this all year round. Got this deal in the app a few times in the past few months
Awesome, love KFC.
They increased price to $10.95 a few month ago. Glad to see that price again!
Was a wake at midnight checked the app.
For All of Sydney it was 10.95
Its disappeared this morning from the app though
Thank god I live in QLD, dirty peasants from other states cant handle the 9 piece tuesday it seems
I think the reason for other states not getting this all the time is that KFC think the people in other states are wealthier and don't need the constant discount price for them to get sales
Collins foods own part of the qld one, thats likely why.
None of the Sydney CBD stores have app ordering however only 2 of them have Hot n Spicy.
So Sydney people who want Hot n Spicy will have to wait until October 2.
Town Hall store has app ordering
Thanks!
Don’t see it in the app for Town Hall though.
Any of you guys from Victoria know if and when hot & spicy is on?
…and besides checking OzB and driving to store, how to find out?
The original recipe is alright but hot & spicy really hits the spot.
The original recipe is alright but hot & spicy really hits the spot.
You're supposed to eat the drumsticks.
If a store offer both original and hot & spicy you can see the options otherwise only original is available from my experience.
This is a good tip, thanks.
I will start using the app.
Go to the KFC in Richmond, Hot and Spicy all year round.
Legend! Thank you.
I just looked it up on Google Maps, it isn't close to home (~25 mins), but distance is no deterrence when cravings come.
I've had cravings for KFC for years but can't satisfy them because of being coeliac 😫
@giventofly: Just do it. After the 4-5 time you will assosiate being ill with kfc. No more craving rofl
Is that the burnley ome or vic gardens shopping center?
Vic Gardens
@berger: Vic Gardens through KFC app doesn't seem to offer hot & spicy for me.
Does it require going into the store to order?
Is hot and spicy also $10?
The best KFC deal (for me at least) by far!
Grill'd for lunch and KFC for dinner on Tuesdays.
I probably should weigh myself at the start and end of October.
Also a good idea to book yourself a cardiologist aswell at the end of October
Do yourself a favour and eat this with Mang Tomas All Purpose Sauce ( asian shops), you won't regret it.
What does the sauce taste like?
Why don't they just do it year round?
