  • What's normal price? Will it be 80c like Coles Express?

Take-away coffee prices are a rip-off here. They often charge as much as a sit-down.

      Nope… from memory… they’re around $3

    • +1

      Sorry, you’re right…
      Normal is back
      Small $0.80
      Medium $1.50
      Large $2.00

This coles is exactly the same as the old Coles that was there before….just without Barry the very friendly check out guy.

    • +4

Barry is back… just said hi to him !! So yes, nothing changed

      • +2

Was he working the Self Checkouts again? I didn't see him.

        • He was at the self serve checkouts this arvo but the cash component is broken so they aren't very busy.

    • +3

I can confirm Barry is still there!

      • +2

Anyone used the Murdoch train station… there is an even better Barry working there… he would greeted each and every person on the way and back … and really helpful to everyone. He’s the time keeper there.

        • +1

Murdoch Barry! Such a lovely man ☺️

    • And still very few specials

      • +1

This Coles doesn’t follow the “Coles” prices… the woolie down the road is much better priced

        • I specifically asked a storeperson whether this is a Coles Express or normal Coles, she said normal Coles.

But I did see specials @ other Coles not applied to this Coles.

        • @tsunamisurfer: It's mentioned in the catalogue as an excluded store

  • the new Raine Square

Wasn't it just opened five years ago?

    • +1

They have added a cinema and made it all hipster inside

Pfft give me back Raine Square from the 1990s.

I'm part of the Facade drafting team for the Raine Square redevelopment, and we just recently finished the next stage (a building called "Cox Box" of all things).

Ironically I have never actually seen it or been there in person, unless I went as a child last millennium, which of course I wouldn't remember.

Why, I hear you not asking (as who cares); I refuse to drive into or around the CBD, and I also haven't caught public transportation since the early 2000s.

Is this a pointless comment, I hear you also not asking, and of course the answer is yes.

    Sorry to waste your time.

    • +1

      Is this your fault?

      • +1

        Unfortunately not.

That was before we and the current client / builder got involved.

You really wouldn't believe how much dodginess is involved in the building industry, and developers, including but certainly not limited to Westgem, are always behind a large part of it.

Without going into too much personal detail, my family and I have have been massively (and painfully) affected by the repercussions of greedy developers who are more than happy to screw everyone else over, just to make a few extra dollars.

This has included nearly defaulting on our mortgage, not once but twice, and countless resulting health issues.

If we had the power to take any of these people down, the WA building industry would be in a much better position than it currently is.

Barry is definitely back. He's been working at the Joondalup store while the building was being done.

    • Who/What is Barry?

  • True, sighted Barry in Joondalup.

  • Dammit I went looking for this this morning I thought it was cafes giving out for free

  • I wonder if they will start offering the 80 cent coffees in other Coles stores?
