10,000 Qantas Points for Electricity
5,000 Qantas Points for Gas

2 Plans:

Add Qantas Red Saver
Earn 2 Qantas Points per $1 on your electricity and gas bills, from your current billing cycle, when you pay on time
You retain your current Pay on Time™ discount
Your existing rates continue

Add Qantas Red Plus
Earn 7 Qantas Points per $1 on your electricity and gas bills, from your current billing cycle, when you pay on time

When crunching the numbers, I found the rates are more than current plan. But calculating Qantas points (1 point = $0.07) came out slightly in front.

Red Saver vs Red Plus — no 10% off with Plus but 7x points, extra 4-5k points/quarter.

Bonus $50 gift card for referral, feel free to pm and will send through.

  • What does - I found the rates are more than current plan - mean exactly? Thanks

    • It means compare your current plan to see if it’s worthwhile.

Also note if you join by using a referral code; you & the referrer both get a $50 Coles Myer gift card.

    • Didn't it finish on 3 Sept?

      • I believe its ongoing. I think they just haven't updated their website.

  • How are their rates compared to energy Australia?

    • For me, from what I compared they are cheaper than the big ones like Energy Aust, AGL & Origin but you need to compare to your current plan.

      • Same here.
I moved house yesterday and did a comparison for a new connection. They were cheaper than AGL, Origin and Simple Energy.
I signed up to the Red Saver plan

I did this and it worked, points in my account after a month or so. I've been meaning to transfer back out. The rates aren't that bad, but not as cheap as others I've seen. You have to wait 12 months before you are eligible for points again.

Yeah I signed up to this a couple of months ago, pretty good deal, 15k Qantas points, $50 coles voucher for using a referral and then the AMEX spend $150 get $50 back was the real bonus. You also get sent a Red Energy savings book which actually has some handy little bargains, things like buy 1 Big Mac get 1 free, buy 1 bakers delight loaf of bread get one free etc as well as % off heaps of gift cards. The rates are good but not the best so I'm waiting for my first bills so I can use the AMEX credit and then port out.

The red saver is the go though, 2 Qantas points per dollar and 10% off, the red plus nets you an extra 5 Qantas points per dollar and you don't get the 10% off so unless you value Qantas points at greater than 2c per point then I'd recommend the saver.

    • Same this is what I have been planing to do too. Seems like a good offer especially when we have 5 AMEX offers saved. Doesn't seem like they bill Monthly though as I haven't got a bill yet and its been over 2 months.

      • You can ask Red Energy to change your billing cycle to monthly, which is what I did.

        • Thanks I did not know that. What is their normal billing cycle?

        • @joeiwu: Qtrly

        • Wont work. I didnt have a remote smart meter.

You do have a smart meter on site but the meter does not have remotely read functionality and there fore monthly billing is not applicable

  • so wanted to sign up for this but their rates couldn't beat AGL so was a nogo for me

    • Just do it for one cycle and then port out.

  • Any mimimum contract period?

    • -1

      no minimum
Opps my bad, misread its if you had been with them before

    • No there is no contract term

    • But you pay meter read costs when switching (at least in SA you do).

Dont forget you will get $50 coles myer card if an existing member refers you!!!

Use the referal putting on ozb!!

  • Is there a Credit check?

    • Yes they do.

  • I need a referral code if anyone wants to share.

    Thank you
