Just came back from this exact cruise, with this ship.

    amazing!

gotta pay for your alcohol and Cans of coke-drinks. you will pay dearly! haha

    • +1

If you don't mind, was your cruise >$ than this?

    • +2

how much are drinks? beer ect? Also how much is wifi?

    • How much are we talking about?

    • +2

I did a similar cruise on the same ship -lifou. Its a bit dated although was really good, actually been on the same ship 3 times.

We paid $750 for a balcony room, there is plenty of good food options with the new Mexican and burger bar.

The most annoying thing is kids running down the corridors at any time of day/night.

Word of advice stay away from the casino……..

    • +7

So we paid about $1200 pp for deck 8 stateroom with balcony.
Got $200 on board credit to spend for what ever we wanted. Per adult.

We spent $3000 on grog!! Not bad for two people haha.

Drinks were normal prices $8.5 beers $13 Martini cocktails $16 big cocktails
$18.5 for a Double vodka with soda

$600 spent on day excursions on Islands.

$700 spent on 'night owls' which is babysitting from 9pm till midnight so we have a break from kids and see shows etc. ($8 per kid per hour)
Wouldn't bother with wifi, it's $92 for social media access only. Slow. I didn't have it. It was liberating not having it haha. But Daughter got it for insta photos.

It was a fantastic holiday. Staff were amazing and the kids club crew (Club Ocean team) were so good with the kids.

Two pools, water slides, spa pool. Bars everywhere.

Pizza was amazing, make it to order amazing! Pick up the kids at midnight, go for midnight pizza with the kids. Want pizza breakfast. Go for it!
Put on 5kg in 10 days.

Can buy cheap no tax alcohol and smokes. On second last day I paid $52 for 2ltr of vodka. Duty free (can't drink it on board)

We spent $3000 on grog!! Not bad for two people haha

WTF! THAT'S $150 a day each on alcohol.

I'm surprised you remember anything about the cruise!

I went on a royal Caribbean cruise, spent nothing on the whole cruise. Zero. Nada. Zilch. They removed me from their mailing list.

        • win win?

I imagine you didn't buy any drinks but is water free?

        • +2

          @ippy:

Self serve Water, tea, coffee, lemonade (non corbonated), iced tea is free on Royal Caribbean.

        • @ash2000:

Same as the Carnival, but it's a lemon squash /lemonade, carbonated

        • @ash2000: nice, that's not bad at all. Thought they would do anything they could to get you to pony up money

        • @ippy:

Indeed, sell the tickets at, near or below cost…… All the profits coming from onboard sales.

        • @ash2000: would it be hard at all to smuggle booze on board? Do they really check everyone's bags everytime ppl come back on board lol?

      • -1

$700 on baby sitting? Bloody hell. You'd be better off going to Bal, Thailand or Fiji and staying in a resort at those prices surely!

        • +3

When youre spending that sort of coin, it would be cheaper to go on a premium cruise line where everything is included.

        • +2

          But the pizza was amazing

        • +1

@GG57: Pizza is amazing if your drunk af. Its mediocre at best

        • @ash2000: That's what I was thinking

        • +4

          @GG57:

I've been on a few Carnival cruises and no lies, their pizza is amazing. First time I had breakfast pizza was on a Carnival and I wish there was a place near me that served this!

        • It's $8 an hour for each kid. How is that expensive? It's child care.

        • @RandomNinja: agreed, pizza amazing.
Came back to Melbourne, wish thr pizza was better and free haha.

        • @diddy50: the pizza on the golden princess was much better with a greater selection with a side of chips, burger/pie too only good thing about spirt was that it's 24/7

        • @Dezeption: oh and $150 a night pffft please.
Id do that much at breakfast hhaha

    • +2

Get a soft drink package if you'll be consuming enough.

Was $55 for my son, unlimited soft drink throughout the cruise (10 nights) (as opposed to the $5 per glass/can they charge).

Adults is a bit more though for the soft drink package.

As for grog, I know some will look down on me for this, but look into Shampbooze, saved me a bundle (still enjoyed a few cocktails though, which are quite good value).

    • You can bring up 10 cans of softdrink each, I think.

      • Didn't know that, will go prepared next time, cheers.

  • Seeing $778.50p/p for twin share via https://www.cruisefinder.com.au
$636p/p quad share (yours cheaper by $2 p/p)

    Any deals OP for Carnival’s 10-day Melb->New Zealand->Melb?

    • I'd be in for that for 2019!!

  • +5

Noumea (the first port) is as dull as a dish cloth.

    • +1

True but that's where you go to Amadee island etc. Although if you don't like snakes, avoid

Dunno who negged you but its true, you land at a cargo port

      • +1

depends on if the main dock is in use or not. I've been there twice and the first time we docked right in town and the second time we docked at the cargo port. the second time was a changed itenary due to a cyclone and there was already a ship in at the main dock.

      • "you land at a cargo port" No thats Adelaide

    • AFAIK all cruise lines offer a free shuttle into the tourist centre in town, which is right next to the small/main port.

We did the Hop On Hop Off bus for less than $20 each which was a pretty good way to see the island as well as get up to the aquarium or a few other places which were interesting (forget the names).

Nice historic French architecture as well.

If you think Noumea is dull, you are not going to like Lifou or Mare. At least Noumea was a full day of stuff to do, Lifou was a morning at best.

      Graffiti and dirty

  • +3

So let me get this straight. The question was asked about details of this exact cruise diddy50 went on, and some degenerates on here decide to bag diddy50 out for their choices? WTF? Have a good look at yourselves…. Clowns!

    • @Assclown They have a point though.

    • +1

      Username checks out

    • Sounds like he/she has a pretty awesome cruise.
Pizza. Booze and kids busy with baby sitters! #winning

    • +6

      I had a great time.

I don't really care what they think lollll

      • Sounds like you had a blast but christ you clearly got money to burn mate haha. I don't think i could do that on my own dime I'd just be thinking damn i could be living like a king Island hopping across Thailand or the Phils for a month.

      • Diddy50….. Have you been on other cruises?

  • +1

    Nice pricing there, thanks OP.

Just curious though if anyone went cruising alone?

    • I'm interest to learn this too
