This isn't that good a deal?
I know we don't like HN but even Gerry beats this here at $998?

    • Gerry looks hip in the beard.

      • Oh no! I wonder if I can do something now! We already opened it :(

        • 1) credit card price guarantee might work but their proof of cheaper price varies e.g I had to hunt down a physical telstra catalogue to send in

          2) buy a new one from hn and return to jb unopened :p

Looks to be adifferent model at Harveys - different model number in both the reference and heading….

Yes you are correct. Might just have to learn from my mistake. Next time I need to research better!

        • @fozzie:

Haven't checked the specs though, and tbh the cheaper one at Harveys might better suit op needs

        • @Preferred Username:

I checked the specs and they seem identical. I will see if more info is on hp. I’m hoping the job hi-fi has something better, but I would have preferred a $100 in my pocket!

        • @Fiximol:

Actually my daughter likely hadn’t opened! I called jb Hifi and asked if I should return or price match and they said to pop in! So happy as $105 difference!

        • @fozzie: have you changed the post to point out it is cheaper elsewhere??
(I'm only going to neg this post because this needs to be pointed out - once it is changed I will get rid of the neg)

  • This or a Yoga 520 from Grays Online?

    • This from Harvey Norman as it’s brand new

    • I have a Miix 720 from Graysonline - its a killer of a machine! and it was brand new condition

    • I had a Miix 700 from GraysOnline. Got it much cheaper than this

Came in quite "new" condition but the faults started piling up quickly - dead spots in touchpad, keyboard had some random dead keys and battery life had depleted a fair bit.

Ended up selling it because GraysOnline refused to return it after 3 months (still inside warranty, appalling customer service btw)

What a shame mate, hence better to buy new.

        • not always. Depends what you buy and also where you buy. If you buy old/refurbished, you would probably want to be buying a durable/premium laptop. It makes no sense to buy an old consumer laptop.

I bought an old dell latitude that is probably more durable than most brand new laptops, I dropped the thing so many times, only after about 3 years of manhandling it, did the HDD fail.

On the subject of WHERE to buy, well about the first couple of weeks or first month I noticed a dead pixel, so tiny that you could barely even notice it. I asked Reboot-It to replace it, and they replaced the whole screen and sent it back.

This is one of the best buys I have made ever, and it was refurbished!
