I asked Avantree on Amazon if they could give us OzB'ers a deal on their Bluetooth headphones with APTx-low latency (handy for gaming or watching TV/video without noticeable audio delay/lipsync issues). And they came through with a $15 off coupon.

Usually $100, using coupon S6OO9CFM brings it down to $85.

  • Should ask them for a deal on the Avantree Oasis Plus to go with it! They had 15% off on AliExpress the other day, so if they can beat that, it would be great! :)

    Poor isolation based on review.

Basically everyone can hear what you hear when volume goes over 50%.

    • I wish the article said why they bleed sound. By the looks of things they’re closed back and being over ear it should provide some natural noise isolation. Perhaps they don’t fit snuggly/tightly around the head/ears? Or are there vents in the cups to allow the foam to breathe and not sweat? I’m just guessing.

Any thoughts on why they would leak sound?

    • I think based on the pictures and presence of aptX LL these are the audition Pro

aptX LL only takes things down to about 20-24 ms delay, right?

That's still not great for gaming, and arguably poor for audio sync in video content too. Anything fast-paced for either will suffer.

AptX LL is below my threshold for noticing latency. Below most people's would be my guess.

      • I personally find that it's about 5-10 ms, so it's getting closer, but Bluetooth isn't quite there yet.

Just like refresh rates, the more you train your brain and senses to rely on it, the more jarring it is when there's a delay or disruption.

I know it's a minor gripe overall, but just something for those who might see aptX LL as an all-encompassing solution today.

    • Yeah that's why there's also a a cable, if you can notice the difference, apparently most can't.

I just wamt them for TV.

Doesn't the source, e.g.: TV, AV receiver have to support it too?

  • Good price. It's got NFC as well

  • I found that without AptX LL, there's a noticeable delay when you compare both hearing from TV and with headphone. BUT once you are in headphone only, you can't really tell the difference. Probably only useful for gaming

  • Looks like the code lasts for a month. I'll add my thoughts when it arrives next week.

  • I own the Pro version of these. I can confirm that there is significant improvement in delay when compared to standard bluetooth wireless earphones. I compared with a Sony XB650BT where there is about a 100-150ms delay.
I have two Pro's that pair with a single receiver.
I confirm there is sound leak at loud volumes, so not ideal for public/outdoor usage, but if at home with a partner and watching a movie together it is deal, no cables, but has the flexibility of using a 3.5mm male to male if you run out of battery or want no latency at all. All round if the sound leak wasn't so loud it would be 4.5/5 from me.
