Panasonic TH55FZ950U 55" OLED TV + Bonus 4K Blu-Ray Player $2,690 Delivered @ VideoPro

160

First post, please be gentle.

Been eyeing one of these off for a while. 3k at most bricks and mortar stores. VideoPro have free shipping Australia wide to boot.

Suggests that item is on order so I don't know how soon this is going to come through. Free $300 blu-ray to finish things off has me dangerously close to pulling the trigger.

Thanks OP, but if you don't want the blu-ray player, you should check out their Ebay store tomorrow after 10am :

    $2,980.00, PIXEL code for 20% off = $2384 + $55 shipping
    = $2439

    • Is that free player by Videopro or manufacturer?

Would love to… they never post to Tassie from their eBay store. I'll sit tight and see if this changes for tomorrow though. Thanks for the tip.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

  • No idea. Looks to be a panasonic player. Not sure if this is a manufacturer promo or not.

  • Been eyeing the LG C8 65"

From everything I read… unless you want eye bleedingly popped colours the Panasonic beats the LG.

From my understanding the fz802 is the same as the fz950 here, while the fz952 is the same as the fz1000. Seen them side by side at TGG the other day and with out of the box settings the Panasonic was streets ahead.

      • Isn’t it an LG panel inside? The difference could be software and store settings.

        • +1

Reset both to out of the manufacturer defaults. Definitely software and post pricessing engine.

Same panel yes, but don't let that fool you. Panasonic tweak the hell out of the panel so they can be quite different. It's like car platforms. One platform can power very cheap cars to very expensive cars, e.g.

For the best colour accuracy out of the box, better motion (maybe not as good as the Sony), then the Panasonic is top dog.
If you want Dolby Vision though, try the LG or Sony. Panasonic don't support it.

        • @beatsntoons: How is the menu performance on the Panasonic? WebOS on the LG is supposed to be consistently super smooth.

          @FadeToBlack:

Seemed ok in the store. A little less refined than the LG and Samsung. Totally useable though. Can pin favourites to the top of the dot menu.

Same. Waiting for this to drop below $3500. Fingers crossed it’ll happen soon - at least on Boxing Day. It’s had some significant deals since it came out, already dropping below $4k a couple times.

  • Anyone know if there are any 4K TVs still being made that include 3D? It sucks most manufacturers seemed to have dropped the feature.

I think 3d has gone the way of the dodo.

  • Or Carlton in the top 8

  • I love OLED but its does suffer from OLED colour bleed and ghosting!

here is the 6 month test results https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxR88EDoMx0&t=2386s

watch for yourself and then decide if its worth it

    • If you watch TV for 20 hours a day (in 5 hour chunks with relatively fixed content like SkyNews ticker) you probably have bigger issues than screen burn in.

      • In that case it may happen to OLED phone with people addicted to it :)

  • You can get it cheaper from their eBay store but I think no free 4k player from their eBay I think.

    • its not in the posting so prob not a deal, someone should email them. i'd buy it if the blue ray player was part of the ebay deal.

  • Inmessaged them the eBay price is with no 4k player
But hn jb and tgg will do tv for $2450 in vic only jb matching vp but giving new 4k player theonenin vp deal old model
