20% off Kitchens via IKEA Business (Min Spend $8,000) @ IKEA

50

IKEA BUSINESS members receive a 20% discount when spending $8,000 or more on METOD cabinets, kitchen doors and drawer fronts, kitchen taps and sinks, kitchen knobs and handles, UTRUSTA/MAXIMERA/FORVARA interior, pre-cut benchtops and wall panels, kitchen accessories and integrated lighting in one single transaction between 3-30 September 2018 at IKEA.

A spend of $8,000 would result a $1,600 discount.

To become a Ikea Business member requires an ABN. Membership is free.

As I'm writing this, I think minimum 8K spend is a little steep particularly as Appliances and Custom Bench tops are not included in this promotion. I'd imagine you'd have to have a very large kitchen to fill 8K of cabinets, pre-cut bench tops and knobs/handles.

Yeah, a mate of mine took advantage of this but he does have a legit ABN. I DIY'd a brand new IKEA Kitchen in only a few months ago and yeah, $8000 worth of cabinets would be a crapload. We were struggling to hit $3000 but it was all pretty standard stuff and only a small-ish 3x3 room. $8000 could be do-able though if you went to town with their fancy options ie. glass doors on everything, walls of high cabinets etc.

    • I’m in the process of planning a DIY kitchen reno and we’re current struggling to spend anymore than 3-4k in cabinets also.. I think if it included the Appliances and Custom stone bench tops I’d consider their products, however I’m set on Appliances elsewhere and independent stone mason.. Poorly considered promo IMO

Just want to add my 2 cents, In all honestly you should just try go to a proper kitchen manufacturer/joinery

IKEA is really not that much cheaper and ontop of that, you have to spend your time installing something that might not turn out so great.

You can get a 5-6m sized kitchen for 8-9k with high quality polydoors, soft closing and 3-4m island cupboards etc.

IF you do more research and bargaining probably even get a 40mm benchtop included.

If you really want to DIY, you might save yourself a thousand dollars IMO.

However, if its a small one then DIY is fine

When it comes to joinery, sometimes there is no second chances after messing up.

Plus, a professional joiner can put together a kitchen in a day or two if it is all there.

Just purchased my kitchen last Saturday, its 3m by 3m, went over average quality for cabinets and stone bench and splash back. It cost me $4k for cabinets and $4k for stone.

    Installing it myself.

I think you will find it hard to spend $8k unless you're maybe doing two kitchens… Rentals?

  • Is any of you guys in Sydney? If so, where are you guys doing your kitchen?

I have consider Ikea and the one from Bunnings, Kaboodle, but I'm concerned of removing the old kitchen, I don't think that's a easy job.

So I'm back to a proper kitchen manufacturer, any suggestions?

    Small kitchen as well.

    Cheers

    • Removing the old Kitchen is the easy bit, heaps of fun and very satisfying :) Assuming the old Kitchen is stuffed and can't be re-used then it should only take a weekend to rip the entire Kitchen out… even a beginner should be able to do it, just be sure to get good gloves and eye protection. Of course depending on how far you go with it will dictate if you need to shut off and cap water/power/gas feeds too so that's something to consider before starting.
