I was looking at this, but the way it was worded it sounds like you have to pay for parts, oil and fluids on top of the 49 dollars. If that is the case not sure how much that would be. Pretty popular though, they have sold over 900 of them.

the deal title is very misleading, your service is going to be alot more than $49 … but you get a free coffee!

      • misleading deal, you are 100% right. massive neg vote from me.

    • 900 So they say Donk!

The thing is, there is so much on offer here there is no way in hell they are going to genuinely do all that for $49. The only way they can is if they severely bend you over on "All parts oils and fluids must be supplied by The Workshop and paid for by the customer"

Even then, I doubt they will actually do half the stuff on there. Probably just oil change, rotation, and car wash. And maybe brake fluid flush if they overcharge for the fluid, but probably just siphon some out of the reservoir and put a wee bit of new fluid in.

I bought same offer before and used in their shop before, I did not have good experience there.
they even did not find my faulty reverse light!!@#$%^$#@
    can you trust them?

    • We had our car serviced there last month, it was not a coupon special. It was a warranty service and we are very happy with the price and job done. As we were so happy we purchased 2 scoopons, 1 for us and 1 for my sister. My sisters car is being serviced as we speak. When my husband booked the car in last week he asked how much extra it would be for oils and parts. I heard him confirm back to the guy on the phone that in total considering the cost of the coupon it would cost no more than $100. That is $49 for the coupon and less than $50 for the oil and parts. As I said I was there and heard the conversation from his end and he definitely confirmed that the oil and parts were less than $50. When he got there this morning he has been told the oil and parts will be between $90 and $100. Also just want to mention that I did check how much it was before I purchased that scoopons and was told in TOTAL including the scoopon around $100. Anyway having said all that I was very happy with the service that we received before and I think considering you get the extras it is probably an OK price, but I am still disappointed that we were given the wrong information.

  • I bought their last deal,

You do have to pay for parts and fluids, when I called up I spoke to Jason (he's pretty good) and he mentioned it was $110 for fluids and parts ontop of the scoopon.

They did wash the car, wheel alignment was done, brake flush felt like it had been done (firm pedal feel following brake flush), and carried out the service.

The deal is reasonable value, though one of the mechanics made a mistake (a bolt they thought was the thing to check gearbox level dropped into the gearbox which meant my gearbox needed to be taken on and and they fixed it for free, even though they had to spend a whole day of labour to take off the gearbox on and off again)

because the gearbox was off, i asked for them to put in a new clutch, which they did for free, i just had to pay for the clutch part.

overall not bad, though im not sure about quality of mechanics, coz i also got new belts installed (reasonable price) but after install, now my car squeals for 1-2 seconds when starting up when cold. they said just bring it in and we'll tighten it for free. so overall they are reasonable, though quality of mechanics i wonder about?

  • It is annoying how often deals are "over" by the time we read the OzBargain email and then go on-line to buy something like this.

Nevertheless, if they sold 900 of these packages, I cannot critisize the offer. Sometimes, "deals" are only on a low number of items and may be intended to simply generate interest by customers who may then buy something else from that vendor at normal prices.

Nevermind. My local K-Mart Auto is much more convenient anyway, and still cheap for car servicing.

  • Recently had Kmart Auto Kew flush and change my brake fluid. This was done while I waited. Many car service workshops require you to leave the car all day. Within an hour of my arrival I was driving away. The total charge was $56.50. Unlike most car service workshops, I was able to watch the work being completed from behind a glass wall. Overall I was very impressed with Kmart Auto Kew.
