Still very expensive for a monitor, but I thought this looked like a decent deal since it usually goes for around $900 at min. Just like the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q this monitor has the same panel which is known for commonly experiencing backlight bleed due to poor quality control in the manufacturing process.

Very good monitor. I got it around $710 during the ebay sales.
Still the best monitor I've ever owned. Going on 2.5 years now and I paid $1170 delivered. Still heavily recommended.
Using mine now from ebay sale last month. Missed the $710-730 sale and had to pay $750 for it. Love it to bits
Also 799 AUD from. PLE with free delivery
https://www.ple.com.au/Products/628089/Acer-Predator-XB271HU…No. That’s an XB271HUA. TN panel not IPS.
Happens in every xb271hu post on ozbargain
Yeah, can't blame Femelo, we've all been there. Shame on Acer for the nomenclature.
My bad, sorry guys I used to be good. On this. Thanks for clarification.
XB271HU (IPS PANEL, 4ms response)
XB271HUA (TN PANEL, 1ms response)I paid just under 1k for an earlier revision of this screen before they changed it that ugly "gamer" styling. Definitely worth the money as a monitor is something you use the entire time you are using your PC and can be re-used whatever other components you change in the PC.
It's nice that this later revision has HDMI as mine only has a single DisplayPort input so you can't connect your XBOX1 or PS4 to it :(
Can't you use a hdmi to display port cable?
Yes you can.
The image from console is going to be 1920x1080 and blurry in any case because monitors have no upscaler.
On my PS4 and Xbox One it lets you set the output resolution all the way up to 4K so I imagine the console handles the resolution upscaling.
My monitor purchased in may was perfect with no backlight bleed. Have a feeling it was early batches that had the issues and it's been out for almost 3 years
Unfortunately they still do have issues but not as common now.
Acer Predator XB1 XB271HUA 27" WQHD 144Hz G-Sync Gaming Monitor @$711.20 (Add Parent code)

XB271HUA (TN PANEL, 1ms response)
My next monitor would be a 27inch, IPS, HDR, G-sync, 144hz monitor.
This is just missing the HDR
This is also TN not IPS.
At 27" I'd also want 4k. If I was limiting myself to 2k, I'd stick with 24".
To clarify, 27" at 2k has a lower ppi than 24" at FHD. I know they say size matters, but I personally would like a higher density/sharpness panel.
Edit: oh it is IPS. Why does it only support 16m colours?! Seems like a much better option that it's IPS :p
Somewhat misleading. You're correct in saying that 27" 2k (2048x1080) has a lower PPI than 24" FHD (~86 compared to ~92), but that's completely irrelevant to this monitor, as it is 27" QHD (2560x1440) with a PPI of ~109. 1440p =/= 2k
Adding (proper) HDR to IPS is expensive because it requires local dimming hence the price of new HDR IPS monitors.
Could anyone recommend me a 144hz 24” monitor used mostly for gaming and YouTube, please
I got this monitor on ebay's sale a year or so ago, great monitor for FPS games and can overclock to 165hz however once monitor stuffs up the warranty is almost non existant.
standard answer is "we cannot repair the monitor because it would be more expensive than the monitor" because it is.
Acer support is as useless as a pair of nun's tits.my next monitor will be DIY.
panel+control box isnt really that expensive. i just need IPS and 144hz
I think they restocked, you should update the post.
FYI for those price nazi's, price after discount is AU $799.205 back in stock, just purchased one myself :D
no stock again :(
Yea not a bad price, $750 would be a very good price for this item.
