Have you tried the PIA android app? Works on shield TV.

      • Yes have tried the APP but it won't connect for me. Not a login issue and Support have said that I need to download a module from Tun.ko but there isn't one! :/

    • +1

I sideloaded the app and it works great even on Netflix

i use PIA with Open VPN on my sony Android tv and Mi box 3

        • So there is an android tv app for this one ?
I also have sony android tv.. Am using xpressVPN which works great, but my free trials are almost over, and wiuld like something cheaper than expressVPN.
Also, does PIA run US netflix well ? Expressvpn seems almost at full speed of my connection.

Wait until late November for VPN deals. They tend to have some great ones around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I renew my Ironsocket VPN ever year at that time. Might not be the best provider, but comes with a Smart DNS in the subscription.

Does anyone know how to by pass geoblock with PIA? I tried to use this on Netflix PC but it blocks me saying error…

    • +3

Correct me if I’m wrong but Pia hasn’t worked with Netflix in years.

    • Doesn't even work with aus servers.

    • It's not suited for netflix

  • Does this easily allow US Netflix to play?

    • No

  • I would be careful about registering with prepaid.
I bought 2 years registration and after only few months they suddenly stopped Korean server which is my only reason to use it.
I contacted customer service and they refused any refund because it is registered via prepaid.

    • +1

      it is registered via prepaid

BS, if you pay with a credit card, you can apply for a charge back and the scammers will pay penalty fees too.

  • This is actually an affiliate offer, by purchasing deal here, VPNfan.com takes a commission.

Same deal with the LinusTechTips affiliate link which is basically ongoing / long expiry, it's basically their normal price.

As always, be warned that PIA has been doing some stupid things recently, me and some others had a discussion about it here and you'll find a lot of similar info if you search for it. Be careful, as they pay a LOT of money for advertising, making them appear better than they actually are.

If you just want a VPN for some region restricted bargains though, you should be fine, but just be careful.

Negging for the company, not for the bargain.

    • Which vpn are u using now?

      • As I use VPN's rarely and not for privacy unlike most, I'm waiting until my PIA subscription lapses.

Don't trust anyone who says a certain VPN is good, because all VPN companies pay a lot for advertising including in communities and forums, PIA just pays more than most.

You'll need to do your own research, use this site as a reference, but be very careful who you trust. Pick the VPN that ticks most of the boxes you need, you're unlikely to find one that ticks all the boxes and has a good price, sadly, but there's still far better alternatives.

Also, try to make sure it's not in one of the 14 eyes if you care about privacy.

    • And I'm negging for the constant drops when downloading Linux ISOs via the bittorrent protocol and the fluctuating speeds just using http.
I suffered through this for years before switching to torguard.

That said, I'm glad they sponsor Linux mint and are funding freenode.
