    36m contract

what's next ? 5 yrs contract for Iphone XII ?

    • Vodafone has actually 3 options. 12/24/36 Months and they call it as device repayment plan or an EMI with 0% interest rather than a contract. You can disconnect from vodafone anytime provided you pay off the remaining amount for the phone. ( The plan is month-on-month. No contract on plans)

actually when people own iphone ipad mac basically they signed a life contract with apple. cant get out. forever and ever.

    • This is def better!

      • erm how so?

        • I meant what RogueWolf posted is def better ( HN Optus $91 100GB 24m Plan)

  • +1

I think the on-going Optus offer from HN is much better. PS: beat me to it

  • +2

I will take notes "in jail" for 3 years. Yay!

  • +4

$100 a month for three years, and only 80gb of data? Hahahahahahha.

    • +5

      I know.

And then they're complaining that they can't afford stuff like houses.

      • +3

Yeah. Brand new gadgets every year and holidays every year. Oh but these houses. They are so expensive. Can't afford it.

        • Except the people looking for a house are smart enough not to buy new gadgets every year or go on expensive overseas holidays, and still have no hope of buying a house.

These kind of plans are more targeted towards the cashed up greedy baby boomers who own 4 negatively-geared properties, won't downsize, refuse to sell for any less than 12x the average wage what cost them 3x at most, and raise rents through the roof every 6 months so the young tenants have no chance of saving for their own deposit without being homeless for a few years first.

But sure, it's those whipper-snappers with their new fandangled smartphones and smashed avocado, why can't they just all earn 6 figure salaries, then they can pay more tax to help fund government handouts for the old people who failed to plan for their own retirement. Benefits which won't exist for those young people when they need it in 40 years because the government can no longer afford to fund them. But that's ok because the government forced them to set aside 9% of their wage for retirement. No wait, 9.5%. No wait, 10%. No wait, 12%. No wait, now there's no super left because it was withdrawn to help pay for a house deposit. Oops. If only all those young fools didn't sign up to 26 of these $100/month plans, they could afford the average mortgage!

Terrible deal - 3 years for almost $100 a month. Much better off going for the HN deal posted in comments above or waiting for a outright deal.

    • +2

Or just buying a cheaper phone…

      • +1

You mean like any sane person? Oh no we can't have that. If you are not queueing up on your annual leave to get $1000+ phone. You all doing it wrong.

        • +1

agree. appearance is number one, get it now and today think about pay later, worst case centrelink is there to help us, the almighty australian citizen

    • +1

Terrible deal, therefore not a deal? mmmm

  • +1

Thank god I was able to get the 100gb $91/month 2 year deal through Harvey Norman.

  • +1

$98.13 Per Month for 36 Months

ok hands up who want to pay almost $100 per month for frikkking 36 months? thirty six!
the marketing guy should get fired from even thinking of this promo.

  • +1

how come people still taking up plans?

some people may say "oh but prepaid from xxx is very similar with this plan based on my calculation"

you CANNOT compare contract with prepaid, because with plan, how much you pay is FIXED for yyy years.
but prepaid, every month there is possibility they will become CHEAPER.

just doesn't make sense.. seriously.. the only argument why people taking plan is because they dont have money to buy outright but want to have a luxury phone.

yeah, no wonder credit card debt is so high with this kind of thinking.

  • Better off getting the interest free finance from Samsung for 24 months and getting a 12 month BYO/Prepaid or 84 dollar regional offer from Optus.
