  • What's the best time of year to go Fiji? And what do people recommend for a 1 and 4 year old in terms of accommodation etc
    Thanks

    • I went on my honeymoon in Feb, some rain but it's usually only afternoon and makes for spectacular sunsets. Like out of this world spectacular.

For kids, frankly from what others I know have done, go to a resort. There's often activities for kids, or daycare options too. So the grownups can have some alone time as well as enjoy time with the family.

      • Whwre did you go? Looking at this for early next year, also a honeymoon.

        • Coral Coast area, about 80 min from Nadi airport away from the main resort area - stayed at Maui Palms. Small - like 6 or so bungalows, so all the staff know you by day 2. Very relaxing but not much to do if you're the jetskiing or whatever type of person. We enjoyed it tho!

    • If you want to enjoy the ocean (snorkelling etc.) then I suggest staying one of the outer islands. Yasawas are great. Beaches off the mainland are pretty bad. There's not much to do on the mainland either.

You can do a day trip island hopping tour to see if/which ones you like first.

    • I went this past June with my 2 year old. Highly recommend Sofitel on Denaru Island for families with kids. The pool is great for toddlers, and you can get a single room with two queen beds to fit you all. Also buy the Accor membership when you get there to get dining discounts. The membership cost us $318 FJD, so around $205 AUD which was much better than paying the $395 it costs you from buying it here. Enjoy, Fiji was our best family holiday yet!
