How is "Vodafone Network" good value?
Search "Vodafone" on whirlpool(whingepool) and you will find a large amount of people complaining about it's coverage, speed, congestion and reliability.
I still think it is a good deal, I just would not touch Vodafone myself.
search anything on whingepool and you will find people complaining about it, it is a vortex of negativity
also read the newspapers and see a large amount compaining… not just whirlpool ;)
all 18GB for 365 day expiry or 3gb for 1 month then 15gb for 365 day?
how good is this usb modem compare to previous virgin/voda/3 deals?
I would prefer the telstra prepaid 12g 12 month expiry, no modem. But their 3G service doesnt suck arse.
how much is that may i ask?
I think Telstra is 10gb with 12 month expiry, cost $150. Virgin is 12GB.
Good on ya Powerevolution, Mr. sonicentropy has realized himself as of how intelligent he is, by disclosing the fact how much the other providers are charging these days.
I have a desire HD that also is my internet (3g router) for my ipad with vodaphone and the data service from vodafone is beyond a joke, come 4pm a pages will take minutes to load if all. Put in a telstra sim (from my work phone) it's like lightning. There is a huge difference
it depends, i have a tl mr3420 using vodafone internet and its fine for me, stable connection and fast over 4 laptops.
$120
who is selling Telstra for $120 ????
Are you talking about this where it is 10GB/month for $120/month? http://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/wireless-broadband-plans/ that's a 12-month contract, this is deal is prepaid.
I should have put the links in my previous comment, but I was referring to this, 10GB with Telstra, for $150 with 365 day expiry, modem is not included. http://www.telstra.com.au/bigpond-internet/mobile-broadband/…
Good deal. This deal may be even better value/more suitable for some users—9GB/$49.50/180 days:
Thanks… Definitely better as I can see they will be cheaper by 6 months time :)
Was keen…then saw VF network… no thanks.
Seems good deal but it is VODA :(
So this gives blistering speeds of 20 – 40 kbps?
Hmm Ok for traveling convenience I guess.
Is it $99 postage included?
Free Postage ;)
Just got the 9GB/$49.50/180 days as per "camelgrass" link.
Yeah me too
Figure I will give it a go at $50 and hope the Voda network is ok
If not then not out much and can flog the modem :)
If so then recharge in 6 months when (hopefully) even cheaper
How easy to unlock this modem online?
Good question
Would be curious to know too
Wireless is SHIT! .. for those who want Good internet get DSL
Troll much, DSL is a fixed line service that requires contracts and set up fees.
You do realize many students move around a lot and can't afford to have a fixed line.
For the vast majority of people in australia, wireless broadband is already good enough.
Not good enough for ozbargainers of course.
I tried to get Telstra to install DSL on the 8:10am Hurstbridge line train, but no luck… :(
They turned up in time for the 2.15pm train instead right? lol ;-)
Vodafone is not that bad. But then again I am comparing it with Optus.
Telstra plans are a ripoff on paper but you only have to experience the Next G performance
to appreciate the value for money in there.
Its funny how we complain nowadays if a 5MB picture takes about a minute to download.
8 years ago i bought an unwired modem which i carry with my laptop because conection thru my phone is slow.
..And i was happy with the 256K speed!! lol

they are also planning on rolling out 4G by the end of this year…
Vodafone is crap. There's no coverage in my area and alot of the areas I travel to
where would that be ???
Does anyone use Vodafone regularly around the Mornington Peninsula, especially around Dromana ???
Vodafone maps claim there is coverage there, but so does Virgin Mobile and i hardly get a signal…
VODAFONE. Don't do this. It's a trap.
Why would you not BUY
TWO of these:
http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/prepaid-mobile-broadband-9gb/
instead of
ONE of these:
http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/prepaid-mobile-broadband-18gb/
It's better to buy 2 cheaper ones & throw them away, then buy 1 expensive one! Same length of expiry for 2x cheap ones, as it is for 1x expensive one!
It doesn't make sense!?! There is no bargain?!?
What is the expiry date to Activate these?
Also, does the 9GB or 18GB come as a "RECHARGE", or is it attached to the actual MODEM'S IMEI number?
pretty good value…
